I'll post what I said in my DeviantART blog in regards to what happened last chapter:

"Just yesterday chapter 540 of Naruto was released and it caused a huge backlash in our community of fans, many people have started to doubt that NaruSaku will not happen because of one little panel. I don't want to sound harsh, but I'm very disappointed in some of our fans, why would you give up that easily on NaruSaku because of one little panel? Judging clearly from the panel Sakura wasn't thinking about any romantic thoughts for old duck butt. She was feeling guilty over what the other ninja said to her in regards to him saying he hopes he's a great guy and of course it had to be duck butt, but remember Sakura's first crush was Sasuke and I know for a fact that getting over your first crush is hard and it takes time, but eventually Sakura will get over her crush of Sasuke. Sakura does love Naruto, it's just I feel like she also feels guilty for the way she treated Naruto when she was younger and now that she sees Naruto for who he is, it's driven poor Sakura into a deep state of guilt and couple that with Naruto's rejection of her back in 470 probably doesn't help her cause, but make no mistake, this is more character development for Sakura and helps her to get over her crush of Sasuke even more.

But the main point of my message is to urge all NaruSaku fans to not give up hope just yet, we've come to far to lose this battle! There's been too much development for it to be thrown away, we just have to be patient like we always are and eventually it will all pay off for us. So I urge you to stay strong for our favorite couple and never give up! Because I sure as hell won't!"
