About Me
Who am I?
An excerpt from Søren Kierkegaard's Either/Or:
"Every person, if he so wills, can become a paradigmatic
human being, not by brushing of his accidental qualities,
but by remaining in them and ennobling them. He ennobles
them by choosing them."
This is a mere reference point, as to the kind of person I am, or rather, the sort of person we all are.
Favorite anime/manga includes Neon Genesis Evangelion, Gurren Lagann,
Full Metal Panic!, Casshern Sins, and of course Naruto.

so did anyone notice that tsunade told naruto "we're on the verge of war!"? that clearly contradicts the manga, in which everyone went to great lengths to keep naruto in the dark about the war

My guess is that it is because of their similar (yet very different) childhood. They both grew up alone; Naruto because no one wanted to have something to do with him because of kyuubi and Sasuke because he didn't want to have anything to do with the people around him.
Their "friendship/rivalry" was for both of them the very "first" bond they ever made. For Sasuke this would be after he lost all his others I don't think he actually made a bond with anyone between the time his clan was murdered and he became friends with Naruto.
I don't think their bond is one sided (I'll try explaining but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to make my point), they both feel the same way about that they will eventually face each other in a battle. Neither of them thinks he's going to lose pretty much the same as in the beginning of the series but then with Sasuke's desire to kill. I still doubt that Naruto see's Sasuke as a real friend, more like an old comrade or smthng.
I'm still not sure if someone will get my point and even less if someone feels the same way about it, but I tried...
NaruSaku on the other hand is not entirely developed yet, it's close but it isn't there yet. And the story seems to develop entirely around the bond of Naruto and Sasuke (in a rough way).
Also I don't think Kishi is going to emphasise to much, for the pairing wars and all that stuff...

The key to save Sasuke lies in the power Itachi gave Naruto.
true. but as far as "saving" sasuke goes, i hope that at most he only turns back to the light for a brief moment before he dies. cause if he doesn't die, then a lot of fans are going to be pissed

there seems to be this common theme in this story of people acting as excellent ninjas but as terrible family members. Minato, Sarutobi, Jiraiya, and Itachi all fulfilled their duty to save Konoha, but at the cost of deeply hurting some significant person in their lives.
maybe Kishimoto is trying to make a critique of the concept of the "ninja" itself. that is, by definition it seems that a ninja must sacrifice everything, including family, for duty. perhaps by having the hero, Naruto, try to act differently and find a "third way," Kishimoto is trying to redefine what we could possibly imagine a ninja to be in our art, literature, entertainment, etc.
or maybe i'm just looking too deep into this lol
