I'm looking for a fic where Naruto in a flashback secretly adopted a girl named Hitomi after the fight with Pein when he saved her from a wreckage caused by the fight or something but she eventually got really sick and called naruto daddy when she died. It wasn't the major premise of the story but that small excerpt something I wanted to read again.

TheAprilFool's Kiss of Despair. It left an impression on me when I first started reading NaruSaku. It's an old fic so the style and format isn't too great but it definitely got across the point of Naruto's selflessness and how greatly he cares for Sakura.
