Probably one of the best shows of this spring's anime season.
Six childhood friends grew apart in high school. One of them is Jintan, now a shut-in. He gets a request to fulfill a wish for Menma, the only one of their friends to have stayed the same over the years. In order to grant her wish, he will have to find and reunite their old friends.

Jinta "Jintan" Yadomi (宿海 仁太)
Voiced by: Miyu Irino
Jinta Yadomi is the primary male protagonist of Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. Jinta was once energetic and outgoing during his childhood, but has since become a recluse in his own home. During his childhood, Jinta was the de facto leader of the self-proclaimed Super Peace Busters. After Meiko passed away in an accident, the group drifted apart, and Jinta became a hikikomori.
Meiko "Menma" Honma (本間 芽衣子)
Voiced by: Ai Kayano
Meiko Honma is the primary female protagonist of Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. Meiko had previously died in an accident as a child, but appears before Jinta one day. Meiko is very talkative personality and greatly values the friendship and childhood memories she once shared with the others. She has very few memories, other than recollections of her friends and the fact that she had made a request to Jinta. She is able to touch and feel things, though only Jinta has the ability to see or hear her. To him, she seems to be his age, but still retains her childlike speech and tendencies. Jinta comes to the conclusion that her presence is a hallucination caused by stress. Meiko appears to be able to interact with objects, and is also shown in scenes without Jinta.
Naruko "Anaru" Anjō (安城 鳴子 Anjō)
Voiced by: Haruka Tomatsu
A childhood friend of Jinta and Meiko. Naruka displays a cold attitude towards Jinta, but is secretly concerned for his welfare. She is perhaps the closest to him presently and also attends the same school. She has told him that she is disappointed by his current lifestyle, but she also shows signs of lingering feelings towards him. She works at a video game store, part-time.
Atsumu "Yukiatsu" Matsuyuki (松雪 集)
Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai
A childhood friend of Jinta and Meiko. In the present, Atsumu holds a condescending attitude towards Jinta. He becomes agitated when Meiko is mentioned and is still distraught over her death. He, together with Chiriko, attend the same high school, which Jinta failed the entrance exams to enter.
Chiriko "Tsuruko" Tsurumi (鶴見 知利子)
Voiced by: Saori Hayami
A childhood friend of Jinta and Meiko. She and Atsumu attend the same high school.
Tetsudō "Poppo" Hisakawa (久川 鉄道)
Voiced by: Takayuki Kondō
A childhood friend of Jinta and Meiko. He had great admiration for Jinta during their childhood and frequently called him 'amazing' or 'cool'. He has traveled the world a lot and earns money by taking various part-time jobs.
