I don't want to be (much of) a distraction from the contest that just happened here or the next one, but I do want to let you know that we have a contest going on in the NaruSaku Fan Club at NarutoForums.

The Theme: Sugar & Spice
Like Heaven & Earth, Sugar & Spice are complementary elements (as proven by snickerdoodles and hundreds of other desserts). They also serve as an analogy for the relationship between Naruto and Sakura. Sometimes, they are very considerate and sweet to each other. Sometimes their relationship is a bit less warm and fuzzy. smile-big The most recent chapter has an excellent example of that, but that isn't the only type of contrast. There are several other not-so warm-and-fuzzy moments in the poll at NF if you're looking for additional inspiration.

The Categories
There are just three categories this time.

• Original Fanarts - managed by -♥Nadia♥
• Original Fanfics - managed by Kanae
• Adaptations - managed by Louchan (including banners, avatars and wallpapers)

The Rules

1. Anybody can enter. It's not limited to fans or members only.
2. Multiple submissions are allowed - either in multiple categories or multiple entries in one category.
3. No submissions with mature content are permitted.
4. All submissions should show contrasting elements of their relationship.
5. All submissions should be original.
6. Submissions may be posted in the FC, but should also be sent to the category manager to ensure that they get uploaded.
7. The deadline for submissions is August 13 at 9 pm EST.
8. Voting will be conducted by poll during the following week and the poll will be closed on August 20 at 9 pm EST.

We'll be setting up a separate website for the managers to upload entries and then create polls for everyone to vote on the winners.

And what do the winners get?
They get the adulation of the fan club! What more would they even want?


There is also a prize pool for each category.

• The Uzumaki artbook.
• A plushie (as of yet, undetermined).
• A perk from NarutoForums for a month - their choice of a larger avatar, a custom user title or their username in sparkles.

The winner of each category gets their choice of one of those prizes, second place gets the second pick and third place gets what's left. Anyone under 18 must provide proof of parental consent for us to ship a prize to them.

Not that I'm trying to discourage you, but it's not a H&E contest. H&E is going to be holding a contest for fanfics and fanarts sometime later.

And we might be throwing in some other prizes, but they won't be chocolates or donuts.

Well, you can make an account and stay only within the NaruSaku FC. That's where 95% of my posts are nowdays.

But I think we can work around not having an account if you PM me your entry. But you may still want to visit NarutoForums to see the other entries.

That shouldn't be a problem and might not even be necessary. We're hoping to have stuff hosted on another website specifically for the contest. So you might be able to e-mail it there.

Just wanted to say that it's a definite that there are actual prizes now, the deadline has been extended and it has its own thread at NF for Q&A

Meaning that you may need to stray beyond fanclubs.

Double-posting (sort of), but I wanted to announce that the contest deadline has been extended. Again.


The deadline is being extended (again) because I really want to at least get enough entries to equal the number of prizes. Last time though. And this time, I mean it.

Anyway, the new deadline is going to be Thursday, August 13 at 9 PM. (We do have a new chapter that week, right? I keep hearing that the off-week is the earlier one.) The polls will open shortly after the contest deadline and be open for the next week. There will be a link to the contest polls in the contest thread and in my sig.

The polls for the contest are now up at the site Manda built for it. (Thank you, Manda!) There is a page for each of the sections and then links to the polls (so it's not too crowded and doesn't get confusing). Voting ends on August 20 at 9 PM EST.
