A couple of days ago, for Batman Day, SEGA surprised everyone with a animated teaser...

 

 

...which led many fans shocked.

 

 

Today on the Sonic Central: SEGA announced a collaboration crossover with DC Comics/Warner Bros., as Sonic and friends are crossing over with the Justice League!

 

This crossover is not just going to be a comic book. There will be more media, marketing, toys, accessories and more that will last until 2026!!!

 

So we have:

 

Sonic as The Flash

Shadow as Batman

Knuckles as Superman

Amy as Wonder Woman

Tails as Cyborg

Silver as Green Lantern

The first issue is out today and I could not help but smile because how damn clean the artwork is by Adam Bryce Thomas! Now his work in Sonic is extraordinary but his drawings of the Justice League are incredible!

 

Little summary of Issue 1:

 

Justice League X Sonic 1

Superman/the Justice League's nemesis, Darkseid, began attacking Sonic's world and is after the Chaos Emeralds. The Ragna Rock appeared while interrupting Sonic, Tails and Amy's picnic. While this was happening, Knuckles was defending Angel Island and the Master Emerald when suddenly Darkseid sent a huge beam, destroying the Master Emerald AND Angel Island! Superman appeared in time to save Knuckles. The swarm was attacking Sunset City where Sonic and the others were heading. Silver, who was in the city, gain assistance from Green Lantern (John Stewart), Sonic met with the Flash, Amy and Tails teamed up with Wonder Woman and Cyborg, Superman and Knuckles appeared and Shadow and Batman saved a female posseum. After the introductions, along with Batman and Shadow had a heart to heart conversation as they are so similar, the 2 teams paired up to locate the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic and the Flash reached Green Hill Zone to discover that Darkseid just found the blue emerald.

 

Yeah, besides Batman and Shadow, since Knuckles paired up with Superman, the irony kicks in when you realized that there were some similarities between the two when you read Archie Sonic comics, pre-252. 

 

I'm curious if Eggman will show up. Although:

Issue 2 is out:

 

DC X Sonic 2

Sonic and the Flash tried to get the Chaos Emerald from Darkseid but failed and he escaped. Flash let the others in the League that they failed to get the emerald while the others couldn't find the other 6. Meanwhile, Darkseid returned to Ragna Rock demanding a report on the remaining six, and then sending in his warriors to find them. Tails and Cyborg managed to create coordinates for the others to locate the emeralds. While the JL trying to formulate a plan to stop Darkseid from taking over Sonic's Earth (and no, it isn't Mobius anymore for the US fans), Darkseid's warriors appeared to stop them, with Steppenwolf battling Batman and Shadow while holding the red emerald, until Shadow used Chaos Control. However, Darkseid is one step ahead as sparks and earthquakes began to shake all over the planet, disrupting time and space.

 

While this is happending, Eggman appeared on the Egg Carrier, forcing to team up with Sonic and the JL to stop Darkseid. The group launched an attack on the Ragna Rock (although Diana commented that she will deal with Eggman after Darkseid defeated, which excites Amy... Eggman is going to run to the hills if that's ever happening!) Team Sonic and the Justice League tried to stop Darksied and neutralizing his device with a face, with Shadow using Chaos Control on him, unfortunately, that didn't work. Flash tried to stop the device with Cyborg noticed that the dimensional energies are out of sync because of Darkseid's mess. Because of the Chaos Emerald energy, reality was collapsing. John hold Sonic and his friends in a green sphere in which Cyborg send them to a different dimension via Boom Tube as they and the rest of the League stayed behind to stop Darkseid, resulting Sonic's world to disappear. Team Sonic arrived at the Watchtower as Mr. Terrific stated that everyone in that world has vanished...

 

Whelp... this almost acting like an Archie Sonic event.

Need to read issue 2

Issue 3 is out:

 

DC x Sonic 3

Where we last left off in issue 2, Team Sonic found out from Mr. Terrific that their world was gone. That included the Justice League and Darkseid. Sonic and the others decided to return the favor on protecting Earth though Mr. Terrific stated that it won't be long until the villains realized that the major heroes are gone. Days and weeks gone by as Team Sonic became the "replacement" Justice League. Silver and the Green Lantern Corps faced off Sinestro. Amy battled Gorilla Grodd with the help of Supergirl and Hawkgirl in Washington DC. In Metropolis, Knuckles was called by Lois Lane, stating that Lex Luthor wants to see him. Luthor believed that he would've "poisoned" Knuckles with kryptonite but it didn't work as it was actually the Green Chaos Emerald. In Gotham City, the Joker was causing havoc until Shadow arrived... and it didn't go well as Shadow instantly KO'd him. And in Central City, Sonic faced off against Reverse-Flash. After winning the fights, Team Sonic realized that the villains had a Chaos Emerald. Tails asked everyone to meet at the Hall of Justice where we have Beast Boy as an otter (looking like an echidna, which I will explain at the end), playing as a guard. With everyone has 6 emeralds (Tails secured his off-screen in the battle against Brother Blood with the Teen Titans), the emeralds was able to locate the last one, which is in another dimension... meaning that Team Sonic are able to go back to their dimension. With the help of Mr. Terrific and Tails received the coordinates from the emeralds, the portal was created to send them back to their dimension.

 

Discussion

The power-scaling for Team Sonic is crazy here... I wonder how the DC fans feel about this, especially seeing how the Joker, the most popular villains from Batman, gets knocked out by Shadow. Anyways, let me jump to the mention of Beast Boy. So we have sneaky references from Ian Flynn (I bet he couldn't resist this!), where we have Beast Boy shape-shifted into an otter but looking like a echidna. One reference is a shout-out to a prank version of Knuckles named Rankles the Otter from a Sega UK Magazine but this one got me because Beast Boy was looking like...

me, personally believing Sonic could achieve any speed he wants whether hes SuperSonic or not, I dont have a problem with him beating Reverse Flash. They are moving Knuckles to strength and speed that he shouldnt be at. He isnt close to Superman level, I dont believe he can hurt Kalibak either. I believe Shadow blitzes Batmans whole Rogue Gallery including Batman himself, Clayface might give a little trouble in the beginning, but he figures him out and incapacitates him as well.
