Honestly, the War arc was more interesting for me mainly because I still had hope that things would work out, that Naruto would grow into that leader, a true Hokage, that we would see glimpses of the other Rookie's growing up and becoming adults (even Hinata) and that Sasuke would redeem himself but still die in the end.
And of course none of those things came true, so....

War Arc by a landslide if only for the fact that, for the most part, our hero was still Naruto and he mostly acted and behaved like the Naruto I grew up rooting for.

I can't chose between crap and crappier from a crap series with a utter crappy author so I prefer to watch/read Gintama .
But if I really had to then war arc only bc the character were somewhat in characters till 663 and you could have still make some sense out if it even if it was forced and despite the many asspulls , plot holes and contrived BS scenes unlike in Gaiden who's just a pointless SS orgy paring fest that brings nothing and furthermore destroys everything that logic dictates in literal and common sense ugh !!! .

" I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come."

At least the War Arc had potential

The War Arc because even with all its many faults, it was still a part of the main story... Gaiden is just an irreleveant spin-off filled with nothing but who's the mom?-drama.

War Arc.
Only because Ino saw into Naruto's mind and Gaara was simply super cool.

ugh...i guess I have to choose the war arc
it was badly done, with horrible pacing and completely ruined the series, but it had it's moments like Gaara remembering his mom and uhh...some other things I guess
The gaiden however is utter, absolute crap

War Arc - as crappy as it became as it went on, it still did have some good and cool moments buried in it.
Gaiden has less than nothing.

I was tempted to vote for the Gaiden Arc purely because it's shorter..

Screw both of those, Pain Arc is where its at, if not that then the arc dealing with Road to Ninja even though it's a movie. I don't care that's an arc I prefer till the very end alongside The Pain Arc.
THAT'S WHAT HEROES DO, THEY SAVE PEOPLE!!

Both are terrible arcs as they didn't even help further the development of characters, especially the "War arc". That arc is the one responsible for leading up to such a messy ending.
Gaiden....
Don't even bother
