I'm going to bet the addition of bangs to Sakura is because of all of them, her hair/face/outfit transformation is the least dramatic. The length of her hair has changed, but not the shape nor overall look. And the part of her outfit shown is basically the same as her part 1 one.

 

Also, check out the Hokage standing on the slug's head.... Hmmm...foreshadowing for Sakura to solve the boys' kage squabbles?!  lol!

This is probably my favorite cover since volume 63. It's been a long a time since Sakura has been on a cover, I believe since volume 30. I think the bangs on Sakura give her that cute look. Plus it really fits with what happened in this volume. Did anybody else, but me stare at this for a good five minutes before they could say its the real deal?

Note: I knew playing as Bijuu Naruto, having Sakura and Sasuke as support in Storm 3 would do something with the cover of volume 66.

Not in the vol 66 cover. In the old one when they were kids. Naruto and Sasuke are both standing on their summons. But it looks like someone in a hokage's hat on the slug.

I dont think they're going to fight for a hokage's seat, no one will accept him to be kage ever.

I think he has some plan because the hokage thing for me was just an excuse for Sasuke to go unquestioned about his decision of temporary return.

I think it will go down the same path as Madara during the flashback in volume 65. I see everybody turning him down for Naruto, and ultimately that being the big push for Sasuke to go rogue once more. Then comes the final confrontation between Naruto and Sasuke.

Called it, a team 7 cover. Thats a good one, much better than the past few. So funny that its like the older one from years back near the series start. This is a cover making sense for a lot more reasons. Nice to see team 7 on a cover again.

Naruto doesn't look like his usual self either, although that could be just because Kishimoto was trying to emulate his old style for this cover.

I love how Kishimoto draws Part II Sakura 99% of the time, but this is the 1% of the time where she doesn't look... Right. The fringe/ bangs look so foreign to me.

Maybe it will be better once we see the bigger picture.

Yeah, it's funny how that single small addition of bangs really makes her look different!

Yeah. It almost seems like Kishimoto wanted to draw Sasuke, and then changed his mind.

It kinda of does look that way, now that you mention it. Going back to Sakura's bangs on the cover, I think it really adds to her design. Maybe that's how Kishi might show her after the fight with Obito and Madara comes to an end.

Bolded: That's what I was thinking, and if he does that then he'll show Naruto and Sasuke with new look too.

I actually thought you meant the 66 cover, and when I looked closely it looked like there is tiny people on top of the summonings now too. They're just much much smaller.

I know that kishi enjoys parallels but thye dont happen on the same way, he wants to kill Naruto and be hokage next?

It lacks logic and it's totally inconsistence, i think he still wants to destroy the village and his hatred only increased after his flashbacks of Itachi.

 

Madara cared for his clan and the village until he was turned down, but Sasuke doesnt care about them.

Same here, although the bangs kinda tie back into part one, when Sakura and ino first met.
