It is an international competition meaning anyone can participate. Top prize is 500,000 Yen along with a promised publication in Jump! Who wants to jump on this?

This is going to be great! XD Ooh I can't wait for all the ideas to pour in. My drawing is amateur at best but I could probably come up with a story or two.

Although its weird how they give almost no rules or guidelines for the submissions themselves
Beware artists, submitting your work to this competition gives them the exclusive rights and ownership to your submission, even if it isn't selected as a winner. That means as soon as you submit something they have the full right to do whatever they want with it (for example, turning it into an anime and denying you any credit or royalties). They can also legally deny you the freedom to do anything with it yourself. This may not be a concern for some of you, but you should know.

yeah and I'm sure Shounen is a trustworthy company that would be fair about your submission but there is that risk it goes sour. I have heard of graphic design competitions where the company ended up not even choosing a winner and didn't give out the prize but now had all this valuable branding design for their company they got for free.

I think Shuiesha (if that's how it's spelled right) is quite trustworthy with their mangakas. Now this is all speculation from reading Bakuman, but from the way I see it this is a great opportunity for upcoming mangakas from around the world to have a chance to be in Jump! Now if you want credit for your work I don't think Shuiesha won't pull something like completely taking your work and leaving you with no credit. This may become a yearly thing, so we can try at something or not. I'm just glad that this competition is starting to open doors for the international community.

^ Just to add: the decision's yours I just want to do something collaborative and we can submit or not if you want to.

Mostlu likely they didnt find a substitute for bleach and now that Naruto is also going to end are already desperate for good stories that can change that, but i feel that alone to win is kinda difficult mostly i think to win it's needed a lot of advice from experienced mangakas.

I'm totally going to join this one, it's a great opportunity for non Japanese artists to appear on a Jump magazine! It's a miracle if you think about it!
I think I will submit my manga in Japanese, they say that it will be translated in all the other languages if it's one of the lucky winners, but I personally prefer to be featured in the Japanese jump, rather than the American one.
What about you guys?
Go for it! I know you have the power ![]()
do you already have an idea?

I bet! such little space for epic story
That's why you just have to make it so it gives the reader a good idea of where the manga would go and then leaves it on a cliff hanger that makes readers want to read more! Easier said than done of course ![]()
