What if the manga ended with no couples?

No NaruSaku. No NaruHina. No SasuSaku. No ShikaTema. No ShikaIno. No NejiTen. No LeeTen. Just everyone friends. Could you accept that given how much friendship, and not romance, is a theme of Naruto? Or would you feel let down by Kishimoto not having a conclusion to the relationships? It would seem that an epilogue showing us who got together with who would be apropos for Naruto given that another theme is the next generation. It would be nice to see the next generation starting.

But I know some people who do not want couples at the end since there has to be a "loser" in the equation. They would rather it be ambiguous so no ship gets officially sunk. There is a great fear that the fandom will slowly disappear for the loser.

Hmm I honestly dont know how I would feel. Part me of me knows I would be a little disappointed if there were no couples at the end at all. However I would be upset if there was no epilogue at all. I dont think Kishi would do that though. He has invested time in developing character relationships and to just wipe his hands of all that time and effort doesn't seem like something he would do...however only time can tell.

If it meant that Naruto would be alone instead of hooking up with Hinata, then I would have no problem. I may feel slightly disappointed that NaruSaku didn't happen, but that would pale in comparison to how I would feel if NaruHina happened.

I would be okay with it, but ultimately I would find a "no pairing" ending to be a little underwhelming. For me it's all in the details, i.e. the small touches that make a series go from being just great to being ecellent. I think that a pretty apt description of the romance in Naruto. It's there, but it never takes over the story, at least not for very long. If the series were to lose that, then I don't think I would be quite as invested in it as I am now.

Not going to happen. Kishimoto has set up narusaku from the start, which is obvious to anyone who has experience reading shonen manga.

I wouldn't mind honestly. Yes, I'd be a bit disappointed at no NS, but I can live with that.

Not going to lie, I would be really frustrated. I've gotten pretty emotionally invested in NaruSaku, and regardless of what pairing happens in the end, it would always bug me to not be able to have 100% solid confirmation that could get others to admit, "yes, its canon".

If it were some other pairing instead of NarSak, I'd be depressed, obviously, but at least I could get an answer and move on.

Better than NaruHina or SasuSaku happening. That way if NaruSaku doesn't win, nobody wins.


Actually that would be next best thing to happen, NARUSAKU OR NOTHING AT ALL DAMMIT. Actually this is where every faction agrees at, its either their OTP or nothing at all.

I actually wouldn't mind. It's strange but I actually came to like NaruSaku through fanfiction before I began looking for it in canon. If the manga resolves the pairings but poorly (which I don't think Kishi would allow), I'd rather there be no pairings. But knowing Kishi, any pairings should be fair. It'd be nice to end the pairing wars. Then again, those pairing wars are probably going to be the ones that keep the Naruto fandom buzzing for the longest after the manga has ended. We'll just have to wait and see what Kishi gives us!

I would laugh.

Good Lord, I would laugh. Loudly.

So many virulent, bitter pairing wars for more than one decade... And all of them would have been for nothing.

Although I would be somewhat sad because I would like the pairing I support become canon.

Of course. Pairing wars will not end up. Not for several years, at least, when the fandom is mostly dead and most of people left does not care enough to argue the issue or has no energy left for it. You can see that in plenty fandoms.

There were many pairing wars in the Ranma 1/2 fandom. Nowadays the fandom is nearly dead, and several Ranma/Akane fans I have met have no desire of engaging in more tiring fanboyish debates about who is the real fiancee or who Ranma should get married to.

To be honest I would prefer an open ending with no pairings rersolved rather than a naruhina one ( even though when it comes to fandom and money you never know.)

Still, I don't think there will ever be a NH or SS ending anyway, I really can't see that happening.

Correcting not from the start of the series, but from the start of shippuuden makes more sense

Wrong even at the start of part 1 it is clear it was going to be NS with Naruto and Sakura's first interaction showing the way the tsundere will treat the main male protagonist. I have read many shounen manga before and with that experience you can see which pairing it's going to be from the characters reaction, behavior and actions toward the other.

No it's not we got plenty of SS pairing stuff like hugs and confessions, NS was little compared to what SS happened, hwat happened between Naruto and Sakura was one sided by naruto and most of it was for comedy purposes then we got NS stuff in the ending of the part 1 and in the begining of part 2 when we see that sakura has feelings for naruto.

I suggest re-reading the manga NOT the anime. Sakura already had subconscious feelings for Naruto since the beginning of part 1.
