The NaruSaku FC at NarutoForums is hosting a contest over the summer.


Fun in the Sun: The NaruSaku Summer Contest

The Theme: Summer
We've chosen ten prompts based on items commonly associated with summer. All entries should be based on a prompt, but the entries do not necessarily need to be based on summer.


The Prompts

• beach
• sandals
• travel
• suntan / sunblock
• a walk in the park
• picnic
• summer jobs / part-time jobs
• snow cones
• watermelon
• sleepovers

The Categories
There are just two three categories this time.

• Fanarts - managed by AchikaMiyu
• Adaptations - also managed by AchikaMiyu
  This includes banners, avatars and sets.
• Literary - managed by Kanae
  This includes fanfics, essays and poetry.

The Rules

1. Anybody can enter. It's not limited to fans or fan club members only, but you do need to be a member of NF.
2. Multiple submissions are allowed - either in multiple categories or multiple entries in one category.
3. No submissions with mature content are permitted.
4. All submissions should be based on one of the prompts.
5. Submissions do not need to be about summer.
6. The prompt used for a submission should be identified.
7. All submissions should be original.
8. Posting submissions in the FC is encouraged, but the link must also be sent to the category manager to ensure that they get added or uploaded.
9. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, September 15th.
10. Voting will be conducted by poll during the following week, ending on Wednesday, September 22nd.

We'll be setting up a separate website for the managers to upload entries and then create polls for everyone to vote on the winners.

And what do the winners get?
They get the adulation of the fan club! What more would they even want? :wink

The Prizes

• Any three volumes of the manga.
• A plushie (choice of Naruto or Sakura).
• A perk from NarutoForums for a month - their choice of a larger avatar, a custom user title or their username in sparkles.

The winner of each category gets their choice of one of those prizes, second place gets the second pick and third place gets what's left. Anyone under 18 must provide proof of parental consent for us to ship a prize to them.

Nice I'll think I will enter this year fan fiction is my especialy so I think a nice one shot will just do. It's been a while since I have written one.

Sounds like a good idea to me too, I'll probably be writing a one shot too, it's been a little while since I did one too, I was starting to get a little rusty, I think this will help me out.

Ah, this sounds interesting! Maybe I'll do something for it. I like to draw, but I don't really have experience doing fanart so I don't know if my efforts will pay off or not x'D. I guess if I think my fanart came out terribly, I'll stick with a fic!

I wish I could enter but most fanart I do suck and even though I can come up with good storied my writting ability sucks so fanfics is out. I never did an amv before either. Maybe I should enter anyway just to see what happens.

I already inked my picture but I'm disappointed how Sakura turned out, she looked better in pencil :l stupid Manga pens... I'm gonna do a one-shot to go along with my picture ! But i'mma redo my pic, maybe do a different style...

Either is fine in terms of B&W or Colored. You have until Sept. so you can take your time to color it if you'd like, but if you submit it in B&W, that's a-okay.

A signed note from the parent saying that they're ok with you giving out your address is fine. Basically, I want to make sure that somebody's parents won't be upset to learn that their kid has given out an address to a stranger on the internet since let's face it, that can be alarming. So they can either outright refuse or have the prize sent elsewhere like to their workplace or to that uncle that used to be in the Marines.

So I don't want any surprises. If somebody gets upset, I'm going to be upset, too.

You don't need to use all the prompts, but ice cream isn't a prompt this time. Are you thinking of snow cones?

I know I will use the beach prompt and put ice-creams there. I have thought of it. I love all prompts!
