#535570 Game of Thrones: Season 4

Posted by Quinny52 on 06 June 2014 - 07:09 AM

It's become common for people to film the live reactions of family/friends (usually non-book readers) during eventful moments in the series, the most common being the Red Wedding. And even though I think it's staged, I had to upload this one because of how funny it is.

:lmao:

@reddragon88 & @Chatte  - Or maybe Tobirama and Shikamaru have more in common than we thought, and perhaps they have similar opinions on women. Here's to Shika surpassing the older generation in that regard as well.  :lulz:

In regard to the chapter, I would've liked it to been longer, but it was exciting nonetheless.

For a brief moment, Obito allowed himself to imagine what could've been if he had returned to Konoha following Rin's death, of the people in his life who were still there to try and help fill the gap left by Rin's passing, and it was reflected in the K11 and Sai's conjoined  assault on him. But it seems that Obito had (as another put) seperated Rin and his peers into two distinct categories, and to Obito, Rin was his world. When that world ended, everything else in Obito's life became irrelevant.  Yet Naruto, who has faced hardship for nearly all his life, never once chose to forsake the bonds he had strived to build. It could've been different though; circumstances need only have been different and Naruto and Obito may have found themselves on opposite sides, and this is visually referenced in the panel where their faces appear to 'merge' (very much like how Harry Potter's and Voldemort's faces  'merge' during their aparition struggle in DH Pt. 2).

I think Kishi is strongly hinting that the biggest difference maker between these two, the factor that has shaaped their paths from when were joined and then diverged, is the fate of the love interest; Naruto still has Sakura (his 'Rin') in his life, while Obito lost Rin. It is here (with the events of this chapter) is where I think the parallel between Sakura and Rin will be made, and it ponders the question:

Will an attempt be made on Sakura's life, be it through Obito's hand, Madara's... or even Sasuke's??

Everyone has their dirty little secrets. I was just getting out of that phase when I met you. Naruto is actually what helped pull me out of it because it gave me something else to focus on. In that sense, you and Quin helped me overcome my disorder to some extent.

I'm still healthy - I fit a size 10 - but I do want to slim down a bit... I just don't know how to go about doing that without everything spiraling out of control like it did before. It's so easy to fall back into those habits. I've told Andy about all of this and he's been wonderful about it, but I think I need a partner to work through it with me if I'm going to diet. I never did things like this when I dieted with my mom because we were cooking, eating, and exercising together.

Anyway, thank you for the advice. It really does help, and I've had a chance to clear my head.

I would say I'm a rather humble person, so I'm not sure wether I would agree that I've contributed, but If you truly feel that Houston and I have helped you through some of your tough times, then I'm glad that we played a part.

Weight is a problem for me as well, though I've recently made changes to my eating habits (cutting out white bread being the main thing, but eating tons more fruit and more veg) and have lost nearly 12 pounds over a month. I'm currently at 238 (though I don't look it, as some people have said) and I'm aiming for 210 (15 stone/just over 95 Kg). I need to work out a set routine for the gym (I'd use the equipment, but with no real plan in mind) and get back into swimming. I've also taken up cycling, too.

If we need a motivator though, looks like we'll all have to call this guy.

:chuckle:

I used to train in Tae Kwon Do but left after I finished Uni. I want to get back into martial arts and try Krav Maga or Pencak Silat sometime.

Like Hou said, we here if you need someone to listen and talk with, and it's you've got Andy spurring you on as well. Let's keep eachother motivated!

PULL ON THOSE LEG WARMERS!! :hi5: :rawr:

For everyone who hasn't yet watched the RAW

1ST WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS

#493114 Pokémon X and Y

I would prefer having a female form, if there is one. I think they made the mane on the male way too fluffy, and the female likely wouldn't have one. At least, I hope not.

Ah, I see what's going on here.

A woman needing to keep her man in check, right?

On the issue of the starters, I think GameFreak are aware (or should be) that fans don't want ANOTHER Fire/Fighting starter. There's plenty of other types to pair it with, and considering how Fennekin's line can learn a Psychic move, I comfortable with that. Afterall, that typing is rather rare, Victini and Darmanitan Zen Mode aside.

As for Chespin's evolution, well... how could you NOT love that retarded little face!!  :chuckle:

Everyone has their...  'issues' in their teen years, so fingers crossed, he'll be fine once he reaches adulthood.

And even though Chespin's evolution learns Mud Shot, I wouldn't mind seeing a Grass/Rock starter (which only Lileep and Cradily have) to better balance the starters against one another. There's been FAR too many fully evolved Grass and Water starters with no 2nd type, while Cyndaquil's line is the only Fire starter that doesn't gain a type through evolution.

My prediction:

Chespin's line: Grass/Rock

Fennekin's line: Fire/Psychic

Froakie's line: Water/Fighting

#490750 Slug Sage Mode: Is Sakura a likely candidate?

Posted by Quinny52 on 01 September 2013 - 05:47 PM

@ Lid - to answer your question, it hasn't been outright stated by any character that a Slug variant of Sage Mode exists, though it has been strongly alluded to. Kabuto (after unveiling his Sage Mode) stated that Mount Myóboku (Toads), Ryúchi Cave (Snakes) and Shikkotsu Forest were the 3 locations where an individual who had a contract with the respective animal inhabitants of these 3 sites could come and train in Senjutsu. Very recently, Orochimaru confirmed that Katsuyu (and presumably others of her kind) came from Shikkotsu Forest. Further clues can be found in the name; 'Shikkotsurin' literally means 'Damp Bone Forest', and while slugs have no skeletal structure, they typically thrive in damp, humid environments. With this evidence, it's safe to presume that there is a Slug Sage Mode available, if nothing else to balance the powers of the 3 animal species. And while more info needs to be revealed of its origin, Hashirama's Sage Mode is rumored to be the Slug version.

I am a fervent believer in the theory that Sakura will become a Slug Sage in the near future, though there are certain issues that have to be solved before she can meet the conditions needed to train and attain the form. If/when those are dealt with, and she also develops her latent talent for Genjutsu, then she can take her rightful place at Naruto's side on the frontline.

@Darkerest - I don't doubt that Sasuke's intentions are dark in nature, but I have no reason to believe he wasn't telling the truth when he stated outload to everyone who could hear of his desire to be Hokage.

Which takes me back to my original prediction of Sasuke's plan; a hostile takeover of Konoha and the elimination of the one person who could challenge him, in front of all to see. That's why he won't allow Naruto to die, so he can kill him himself.

A puppet to the end.

Question is, was Obito going to use Rinne Tensei of his own will anyway, or did he know that Madara would have this ace up his sleeve?

Still, the last thought of Rin tugged on the heartstrings. Here's hoping for some Minato/Obito interaction before the end. And a Sakura/Rin parallel to go with her recent Kushina and Tsunade ones wouldn't go amiss, either.  :D

#475803 Naruto 634

Posted by Quinny52 on 12 June 2013 - 07:50 PM

To be frank, Sasuke's eventual betrayal shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone here. It definately shouldn't to the rookies, considering his intention to be Hokage quite clearly. Naruto, more than anyone, should not be surprised when Sasuke finally turns his sword on him, since he's probably reading Sasuke's negative emotions right now, and surmissing that he(Naruto) will be in Sasuke's sights once the threat of the Juubi and Madara & Obito is taken care of. He even put himself in Sasuke's sights when he challenged the latter's declaration back in 631. So no, when the time arrives when Sasuke decides to play his hand, I'm not expecting any kind of dramatic shock/sadness from Naruto.

But just to throw a hypothesis out there, let's say for instance that Sasuke really doesn't have an ulterior motive, and really does want to go back to Konoha to compete for the Hokage seat in a democratic manner. Do you he'll just be allowed to walk off the battlefield so easily?

Konoha aside, Sasuke is a wanted man by ALL of the ninja nations, which comprise the Alliance. He killed several samurai (who had remained neutral in the ninja conflicts), attacked the Kage, and murdered Danzo (the acting Hokage). If Konoha are challenging his proclamation to become Hokage, you can be sure the other villages will. You really think they would just stand by and let Sasuke stroll back into Konoha and takeover? If Sasuke really didn't have a plan in mind, I'm certain the Alliance would attempt to apprehend him and take him into custody once the battle with the Juubi is over.

But here's the thing, the Alliance has been whittled down over the last 30 chapters, leaving all the ninja village's millatary forces weakened. With the prescence of Naruto, Sakura, the rookies, the remaining Alliance troops, Madara, Obito, Kakashi (both are currently engaged but you can be sure they will reappear), and Orochimaru apparently tending to the Kage, Sasuke now has every potential opponent who might challenge his plans right where he wants them. And then there's the issue of that scroll that Suigetsu provided him.

As it stands, while he's still biding his time, Sasuke is in a really good position to destroy anyone who might threaten his plans.
