Here's the trailer that was shown at Super Bowl.

Well, I'm not sure what to make of it. XD There's a lot of Matrix-style stuff going on, but I can't shake off that "Corny B Movie" feeling. It was probably the 80's-style ninjas. tongue.gif *American Ninja flashback*

You know that does remind me of American Ninja as well. I doubt this movie will be worth checking out in the movie theatres but who knows, I might let myself get dragged along into the hype machine

It doesn't look *that* bad

Though it *does* remind me of the new Dragonball movie, in the sense that it seems to be more theatrics and explosions, rather than staying True to the original series.

Okay...

Whatever that means.

Anyways, I think I'll be seeing this on day one. I like Stephen Sommers' movies, The Mummy/The Mummy Returns was good, IMO.

Looks good to me, A nice fun action movie, I see nothing wrong with it. Of course, my standards aren't nearly as high when it comes to movies, so perhaps that's why this looks awesome to me.

I have to ask, what exactly do you recall from the original series. Because if memory serves me right, GI Joe was about a military outfit that was set up to fight the terrorist group bent on world domination called "Cobra". They had a lot of high-tech weapons, vehicles, and over the top action. Pretty much what the trailer depicted.

So what exactly was everyone hoping for with a GI Joe movie?

I never said that it didn't look good. Just that it reminds me more of those 'blow 'em up' kind of movies, that *are* fun to watch when you just want some high-explosive, high-octane action in your life ;3

Honestly I was trying to understand how you considered that trailer to be far removed from the scope of the Original series, because frankly there wasn't really much to GI Joe. I mean its not like it was Hamlet with M-16s.

The suits that seem to give them superpowers seems to be a bit of a departure. Well, maybe not from the later toy accessories where they had every sort of GI Joe specialized imaginable.

Anyway, the Doctor going bad? I think that's gonna be serious problems.

That's what I'm thinking. Generic 'blow 'em up' plot, but still entertaining if all you want is some good explosions tongue.gif
