I recently finished reading Lifting the Dream and it was AMAZING. It's definitely what the ending should've been. All questions answered, everyone in character. Loved it!

Well this was... underwhelming, to say the least. This kitten is very filler-like. And ChouChou... this girl had potential to be bada$$, but it seems she's mental after all.

JFC. Before I read the plot summary, I thought please don't force Gaara into some stupid out of character romance, please don't do this. But then I saw the first sentence. "Choose a wife".

WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAVE TO BE ABOUT PAIRINGS NOW. WHY. WHAT THE KITTEN. Even romance shoujo mangas have some other plotlines besides romance. Meanwhile Nardo has been reduced to nothing but a low-quality shipping doujinshi. Disgusting.

Joke aside, I agree with you on the big cast influencing the story progression. But you have to admit that the pacing can get really slow sometimes. Like when I read Bleach in volumes I don't feel it as much. But weekly? It's a torture at times. Like the shinigami going to the royal realm, we've spent 10 chapters with them stuck in the exact same place and something unexpected always happening.

Now with the Emperor (new Soul King???) remaking a new world in SS, I wouldn't be surprised if they get stuck in SS for another 30 chapters while Ichigo's group get massacrated by the VR. Remind me DBZ sometimes lol.

LOL   that's typical Bleach for you. I agree those never-ending preparations are ridiculous, but dunno, I just... don't seem to mind the 'flaws' of Bleach anymore. At least the characters stay true to themselves. After I saw how bad, and I mean BAD, manga can get *cough* Naruto *cough*, it's kinda refreshing to read good ol' Bleach, where things haven't made a 180. Anyone feels the same?

I think Bleach will not end with open ending; IchiRuki and IshiHime will at least be hinted at. While IchiRuki is without a tiniest doubt the strongest bond in the entire manga (and more than friends, Kubo said), their feelings are not romantic yet / they didn't realise it yet, the majority of their interactions show us they care for each other in a special way. Meanwhile, Ichigo deems Orihime his nakama alongside Chad, Ishida, Renji etc. His feelings towards her are not special - hers are, but that's all. Story-wise it would be rational if in the end she realised that the price that she always imagined to be Ichigo has always been Ishida, who cares for her more than for others and it's been shown. I don't mean to be rude of course, but I don't see how IchiHime has any canon proof even if I squint.

Very great points. But damn, I think he was not FORCED, he was PERSUADED. For money. Which is really sad.

IT'S JUST SO OOC. What if some rabid NH/SS fans kidnapped Kishimoto, kept him in a basement and made him end this manga in such a horrible way?
