Sasuke stabbing habit: Naruto vs Karin

25 April 2014 - 01:34 AM

Why is Sasuke stabbing Naruto sometimes overlooked as opposed to when he did it to Karin?

If anything when it happened to Naruto it was even more brutal.

Nate River once told me that it's different with Naruto since he was fighting Sasuke, but that just feels like an excuse to justify it. I would see it differently if Naruto was also trying to kill Sasuke, but that was never the case.

Sasuke chose to kill Naruto when he was already at his mercy instead of just incapacitating him.

EDIT:

Oh cool you're already here Nate. I look forward to your responses. It's half the reason I made this thread.

Favorite Naruto Saga

28 December 2013 - 08:51 AM

To those who don't know, while a story can be divided into several arcs sometimes a group of story arcs that happened in succession have certain elements in common. By using said elements we can place all those arcs together into what is called Saga.

For example, in the manga One Piece the first series of arcs happened in an ocean called East Blue, therefore all those arcs can be combined into what is called the East Blue Saga.

While Kishimoto has made a clear Saga divide with Part 1 and Part 2 the way I see it Naruto can be divided into 3 sagas:

1) The Team 7 Saga: this comprises the adventures of the original Team 7 during Part 1 from beginning to end.

2) The Akatsuki Saga: this comprises the battles against the Akatsuki while still the group of mercenaries that Pain led. This goes from the beginning of Part 2 to the end of the Pain arc.

3) The Ninja War Saga: this comprises of the battles between factions (Tobi's army, Madara, the alliance, Sasuke's group) in order to decide the fate of the Ninja world. It goes from the Summit arc to possibly the end.

I divided Part 2 because the beginning was fueled by Pain's ambitions while Tobi was just a mystery in the shadows who only revealed his own intent after Nagato died and he had to take a more active role. Not to mention that the true founding figures of Akatsuki are the Ame orphans. After Nagato died and Konan defected the true Akatsuki (as corrupted as it became) went away with them.

For me, the best Saga has been the Akatsuki Saga. I like it better than the Team 7 saga because the characters have matured somewhat and also become more powerful, but also because of the way the Akatsuki were presented as such a threat during the battles. Additionally, I loved the intrigue behind Pain as he was portrayed leading the Akatsuki towards their objectives, and also that he was shown as such a menace worthy of the title of leader of such a dangerous group.

So what's your favorite Saga between those 3 in Naruto? And why?
