Yo as much as I hate this ending (and will always consider 698 the more open ended unofficial ending), look on the brightside (ish)-- the only people really happy with the manga's ending from what I see are the hardcore SS/NH fans that think this is all positive character development

In the meantime, I'm gonna keep reading Fairy Tail because even though it's cliche as hell it's got really nice art and my waifu

edit: when I mean hardcore, I mean actual hardcore-- I know most fans of other pairings are generally pretty chill and some of them are even questioning the ending themselves. Sure their pairings are canon and stuff, but I'm sure they would've probably liked to know the behind-the-scenes of it all if there was any

But ya this ending just felt really forced, OOC and read like a fanfic written by someone on acid.  I won't bash Sakura shes still my waifu but man Kishi you did her justice and then you were like hahahhahaha you guys thought i could write female characters hahahahahahaha
