I've been debating about venting my irritation about this story. But since you posted, and it's in line with some other posts (back a few), I'll throw in my two cents.

I was reading this story, thinking it's ok and finally getting somewhere, when the dude changes the whole thing (10 chapters and nearly 200,000 words in, mind you) to a harem. What a bait and switch. I know it's his story, yadda, yadda, yadda, but I hate that I wasted my time and interest on it, expecting it to be a straighforward NS story.

I don't read harems - meh, not my thing, mostly because the characterizations are for crap - but I was holding out for it to be the NS the guy said it would be. Now he says he's going to write another one and that will be NS. Yeah, right.

i have a complant with FanFiction.net with all the NS ficks sakura bashing i go there to relax an injoy but i read atleast five ficks straight an sakura bash after sakura bash , she is a evil B****exc. its jest geting old you know but i dont know what to do but go back to the good ole days storys.

I pretty much don't read it if it hasn't been recommended here. A perfect example is the The Black Fox story. It's got more than 1000 reviews. But someone posted on here that his story was taking the turn of a few of his other stories, and if you were a NS fan it probably wasn't for you (or something like that). I would never have known otherwise, would have read the story and been left scratching my head or feeling duped again.

So my thoughts on "Intentions:" if you like harems, yay for you. But I wouldn't read it for the NS. I don't know where he's going with this story.

At least he told us about it in the author's notes so we can bail on it.

I'm not completely morally opposed to a harem fic, but it takes a lot to pull it off. The only one that I've enjoyed so far was a NaruSakuIno so the other two have a long friendship already and the author spent 20 chapters developing it.

Considering that a theme in this story about how love is about putting the other person first, I don't see how it'll fit in. Sure, Sakura and Tayuya will be doing that Naruto, but Naruto isn't putting them first. They may both even prefer the angst as atonement for their real or imagined sins, but he's still taking the easy way out. Just forgive them and help them forgive themselves.

Black Fox may have been mislabeled.

While hes following a similar line to his usual story telling hes always been a solid NaruSaku writer and this story is no different.

it started a little rougher then he normally does, but if you like NaruSaku its a decent one along the lines of his return of the Namikaze.

Yeah, that and the females are treated as mere sexual objects with "plotlines" borrowed from your typical porn flick for guys with psuedo "lesbians". Yes, that includes NaruSakuIno. It's every bit as bad as yaoi fics for stereotypes.

I did read one NarutoSakuraSasuke one that didn't fit the typical problematic formula, but the problem is even without being objectifying it's as OOC for Naruto to be involved in a gay relationship that it is for Sakura to be in a lesbian one. Both have absolute zero sexual interest in any one of their same gender(nor does Ino). At least with NarutoxSassuke there's some evidence that Sasuke has some gay tendencies and kind of is in love/hate with Naruto.

A well done NaruSakuIno fic ill read just for the entertainment value alone. the three of them have a chemistry thats just too much fun.

that said I agree with Ciardha most harem stories are just overblown wish fulfillment and completely ooc. Plus in regards to Intentions he appareantly is going Harem based on a poll he did.

I don't like harems- (except for Graven-kun's ) I never really felt "the love" in them. Kinda like what ciardha said- it seems like mindless porn to me (even though I've never watched any!) I like the attraction between two people, not five for an all-nighter x_x

I like the story but you should have mentioned that it's a AU not set in canon manga timeline but it's still a good story thanks for posting it Puni-chan.

Naruto's confidence is so cute- determined to save a girl he knew for barely an hour. And Sakura's mother- Sick, seriously sick and twisted.
