If you can't get a big play, then your chances of winning are limited against a good defense. Also (and of course I'm biased) you need a running game!

Not necessarily true. Two of the best teams in the playoffs (Colts and Chargers) have two of the sorriest rushing attacks in the league.

EDIT:

Chargers over Jets

Cardinals over 'Aints

Cowboys over Vikings (gah, picking the Cowboys two weeks in a row)

and I'll got out on a limb...and a far one... and say Ravens over Colts

My picks for this week's games!

Chargers over Jets

Cardinals over Saints (This may or may not be due to my Cardinals bias, I want them to win it all. But I really think with the way Warner plays he can win this one, ESPECIALLY if they get Boldin back. The Saints aren't coming in hot at all, while the Cards have oodles of momentum on their side).

Cowboys and Vikes....I dunno man. I'll take the Dolphins Vikings on a limb.

Finally, Ravens and Colts...my brain says Colts, but my gut says Ravens. I'll take the Colts though, because...well I don't even know. It will be close though.

Chargers over the Jets. Doesn't really require a huge explanation.

Saints over the Cards. I just can't see them being one and done in the super dome. Sean Payton will be ready.

Vikings over Cowboys. If they can run the football well and Favre takes advantage of single coverage it shouldn't be that hard.

Colts over Ravens. It will be a close game but Peyton Manning will find a way.

Time to make my picks

Baltimore Ravens @ Indianapolis Colts

If the Ravens run the ball and play good D like they did last week, it'll be their game to lose. But you can't count out the MVP, The Colts will rally around him and play a good game.
Prediction: Colts

Dallas Cowboys @ Minnesota Vikings

The Vikes must be able to run the ball to slow down the Cowboys Pass Rush. it'll also prevent Favre from having to win the Game for them. However, Dallas is on a roll, their clicking on all cylinders and are ready to make a run.
Prediction: Cowboys

New York Jets @ San Diego Chargers

You stay classy San Diego, cause it's gonna be a looong offseason. That's right, I'm drinking the Rex Ryan Kool-Aid. He's tricked the Jets into thinking that they can beat anybody.
Prediction: Jets

I won't pick the Saints-Cardinals game since it just started.

Sadly. Oh well, we played tough this season. Picking Saints over Vikes though. Man, if our O-Line knew how to give Romo some time. =\

I'm pretty happy about the Vikings game. I thought that we had a pretty good shot because it's a home game, but as a Vikings fan, I've learned to expect to be let down. I wasn't expecting a game like this at all.

The championship round seems likely enough for that letdown. We don't play nearly as well on the road.

Today, I have two reasons for shame.

1) I'm 2-5 on my playoff game predictions.

2) I'm a vikings fan and did not have faith that they would beat the hype and momentum that was the cowboys.

That being said, I'm very excited for the Vikings... I don't know how I feel about them going for a TD and piling on the score with under 2 minutes to play....

Yeah, as a Cowboys fan, I was subconsciously fearing a major letdown. We went on a nice streak to end the season & to start the postseason. But we came out flat today. Rice played well today. And I wish our o-line played better. I feel that if they gave Romo more time, then the game would've been much closer & the Defense wouldn't have been on the field so often. *sigh* After such a tough season, to fall short...Man. I hope next season we can come out better. Just make some good changes on the O-Line & in the secondary & we should be fine...I hope. Good game to the Vikes though.

I'm not quite ready to admit that it was a classless move, but it certainly wasn't the classy thing to do. (Neutral, edging towards classless, maybe? Yeah, I'm grasping.) However, I don't have any sympathy for the Cowboys since they went for it on 4th down on their own side of the field - twice. If they wanted to throw in the towel, that would've been the time. And I think that it was a stupid move by the Vikes to leave Favre and most of the starters out there, especially for the second. Play aggressive if you want, but don't risk injuries to your most important players. Let the back-ups get some reps since the game is in the bag.

Rex got the magic. I'm more inclined to believe he was in fact the de facto head coach for us last year as he has repeated the exact same situation with the Jets, but Sanchez has played way better then Flacco in the post season.

As for the Ravens...defense plays great, but the offense completely sucks. Story of the franchise. Desperately need to revamp the receiving corps; I'm hoping for either Brandon Marshall or Anquain Boldin. It's sad to watch Ed Reed always have to try to score points when they cause a turnover because he knows the offense won't try to. The QB needs some decent WR's to get better and carry the offense.

Perhaps I should pick against who I want to win, so they don't have my bad pick curse...

But no really. I'll take the Colts and the Vikes to win this weekend.
