Sorry but im not standing still for this.

With all due respect that was out of line true Ciardha is not the one who attacked anyone. Kawarimi started this mess and Ciardha may be pushing the issue forward but she certianly was not on the offencive.

As to being rude I find Kawarimis post ruder and with a greater level of innaprropriate attitude then Ciardhas have been. S/he has neither been polite nor courteous irregardless of how logical her post was.

quite frankly Kawarimi has no basis for her posts as she is not volunteering for the job thats been asked by others to be done here. if s/he has nothing productive to add she should simply not post instead of assulting and Ciardha like s/hes done.

edit: to lighten the tone a bit im not a fan of ganging up on someone which has been done here

I agree Catsi, And frankly by the sounds of it both Kawarimi and Ciardha are the most knowledgeable on the Japanese language. We should try to get them to put aside their differences instead of having in fighting and finger pointing.

I understand that the mods are trying to keep the peace, but to be fair a public warning to both of them and perhaps a private mediation by a admin might prove more fruitful in this case. We could really use both of them in translating any script/ questionable material.

Honestly isn't this a better offer than a hard handed approach?

Okay...back on topic now. Next person to continue this argument the thread closes, and will not be re-opened until it's deemed that people can have civilized conversations. If those involved in this issue still have something to say they will do it by contacting Administration or a Moderator. End of discussion.

Okay! I've got another version of the interview up now....it is the one that kawarimi offered. I'm just trying to post as many versions up as i can to see different perspectives. You don't have to agree w/ it.
On the site, the person who posted this interview does claim that it was...

I did however find a post by a 3rd person who said he went to the Festa. His account pretty much confirmed the other two, but the difference is that it seems he either wrote down all the questions/answers, or he recorded it because he has everything word for word unlike the others.
Anyhow, let's keep working and see if we can get these translated.

I like to go out and party, but I do not like drinks served in a femvase (damn fruity stuff... ew), so good ol' beer is my mate. So yeah, I'm also a psychology student, so your mind interests me.

As long as you support a pairing, there's no such thing as an unbiased translator, so I don't really believe the banner for this "translating group" if you want to call it that. Remember that we are a fanbased forum for a Naruto Pairing, and thus will not receive any credibility as "unbiased" in the Naruto fandom no matter how much you wish you will. I'm fine with the translations already used by the major scanlators, and even if they would be biased (which I'm not convinced they are), I still refuse to believe they would twist things consciously to promote their pairing. Thinking otherwise makes you biased!

..^ buy Vyse, There are major things that needs to clarify, for future interviews or translations of script of the recent chapter happy.gif
...example Kishi never said Sakura still loves Sasuke, but in the trans, it was added.
A NaruSasu fan confirmed this, so i think it is not biased.

Another example that something biased was added to the interview. That Kishi said that Hinata is more of a heroine than Sakura facepalm.png can you believe that? The creator himself who made Sakura the heroine of his manga actually says that the secondary character who is not important to the main story is a bigger heroine than his rightful heroine. fu.png

At the very least, it would be useful to know how much leeway the translators have.

If Kishimoto were to write that Sakura loves Naruto wink.gif , and he chose words that have no ambiguity (love = love), that would be good to know. While someone could question if she really meant it (which she does tongue.gif ), we couldn't question what she was saying.

If there were words in the manga that Naruto liked people who are similar to Hinata, and the translator used a medieval-era translation from a colony at the South Pole to change that to "Naruto loves Hinata" (and failed to reveal that this particular interpretation was being used), then there would be room to question if there are other possible ways to translate what is going on. Bias is not necessarily wrong, as long as the person is honest about where there *might* be other viewpoints.

i agree with u in that there will always be biased translations. But we try our best to keep it unbiased. if u have ever noticed...out of all the translations, both sasusaku and naruhina have always made fake translations and biased ones. yet, how often do u hear of narusaku fans making translations like that? We try our best to keep it real....i mean, we made this conclusion. What is the point of making fake biased translations? is that going to change the storyline? no, whatever we make up won't change kishi's plans for the story. so we just keep the translations real cuz there's really point otherwise.
