Is complaining about cilche's and trying to avoid it a good or a bad thing due to possibly running into other cilche's?

Does anyone feel lonely when you ship an underrated mainxmain pairing? Like most mainxmain pairings get criticism for being overdone or being to obivious Sometimes it gets lonely to ship them when almost everyone hates/dislikes them.

NaruSaku is the main example. I cannot go somewhere and say that I ship NaruSaku w/out hearing Sakura getting bashed.

I liked MaKorra... I absolutely understand why people hate this couple, but it still hurts to see so much hate for the couple you like.

I ship NaruSaku and most of my shipper friends look at me like I'm weird. They ship things like SasuSaku and KakaSaku, so they really shouldn't be talking.

Another "main pairing" I ship is Yugi x Tea/Anzu from Yugioh. Most people in that fandom shun that ship, but that's just mostly because they're yaoitards. No biggie.

Mainxmain are usually hated because people think they're "boring" (they see the interactions between the characters all the time) or because it messes up their "more interesting" fan-made pairings.

Complaining about mainxmain pairings is ridiculous. The point isn't to have the love interest be a surprise - it's to see the romance/friendship develop over time. If the main character ends up with some random side character who never does anything, then we don't get the satisfaction of seeing the relationship build up. The reason mainxmain is so common isn't because people aren't creative, but because that just makes SENSE. If both characters are important to the plot then they can fall in love WHILE they also progress in the plot. Besides, there are so many different angles you can take with mainxmain pairings. It all depends on execution.
