As some of you will know, there have been problems on the boards in recent times, and we have had to shut down topics because of arguments getting out of hand. Often, the arguments have escalated very quickly, so by the time the moderators see it, they have a lot of fire fighting to do. Of course, the arguments also ruin the atmosphere and can really spoil it for others who simply want to enjoy posting here.
We moderators are only human, and we want everyone to enjoy themselves here, so we have decided to change our moderating policy.
What we are going to do.
We know that we have been very lenient in the past, so we will now be much stricter on moderating. The rules themselves have not changed, but we will be stricter on enforcing those rules. In the past, we have given out "unofficial" or thread warnings that did not count towards suspensions. We will now use those thread/unofficial warnings more sparingly - once per thread/problem at most - and we will use official warnings that count towards suspensions.
We are also aiming to speed up decisions so that we can moderate quicker and more effectively.
We have decided to do this because we love this community, and we all want to help improve the atmosphere so everyone can enjoy posting on these boards.
So, how can you help?
If you see anything that breaks the Rules of Conduct, or could turn into a bad situation, please use the Report button on that post to alert us! This is definitely better than diving into an argument that can quickly spiral out of control. The sooner we are alerted, the sooner we can take action if needed. The more of you that act as our eyes and ears, the more effectively we can moderate!
Remember to respect each other, and think before you post. We all came here because we're huge fans of Naruto and/or NaruSaku.
We do have exciting new things planned for Heaven & Earth very soon. We moderators will work hard to make H&E a great place to post, but we can only do so much.
What we really need is for every single one of you here to help make H&E feel like a great place to post and relax in. Every single one of you is part of the community here, and you are what drives the board.
