SasuKarin...

Karin's the only character in this manga that got that Sasuke's special smile and he even told her he needed her. But she just vanished from 699 and 700 like she never existed (along with taka). :hm:

And creating a Sakura, one of biggest wins  :wow:

Exactly. Naruto and Sakura are the only two characters this story needed. :hm:

Let's face it, creating Hinata was Kishi's biggest mistake. :hm:

How can people even compare Naruto to HP? Those are absolutely different stories... the only thing they have in common is the main trio, that's all. :wot:

People who follow logic break the rules are kitten and people who sell out betray their fans friends are worst than kitten, right Kishi? :zaru:

See, I don't think they're pandering to fans. The old fans at least. I think they're going for a new fan base with this movie. A younger one, aimed at girls as well as boys, and one that can grow up with a new series. I honestly think they've dropped the old fans because they know that we most likely wouldn't stick around to read a new series with their babies.

Ah, well then it all makes sense. They're passing it off to a whole new crew. They aren't just changing the character's appearance, they are changing the entire character. Like I said earlier, if these characters (the rookies, Naruto, Hinata, Sakura and Sasuke) were submitted to ShonenJump for consideration, it would be an instant negative. There is nothing remarkable or memorable about the characters, or their kids. They've just been dulled down for mass consumption.

This project is sure to fail. The old fans hate it, and that's enough buzz to taint the new fandom. And there's simply not enough interesting plot hooks or designs to attract new fans, no matter how many sappy romance movies they make.

Yeah and eventually new fans of the series would probably like to read the original NARUTO, lol. I'm pretty sure they won't like what they'll see: their whole new fandom being based on lies and retcons. :chuckle:

Chatte has every reason to want to defend herself from the morons. But I hope she takes a moment away from the spotlight and the haters, takes a deep breath and then brings it all back.

Even if things don't go the way she completely predicted, I think the supposed moon kiss at the end might of the movie is hysterical in light of the whole war arc being focused around the moon. This might been what the quote about "ninjas pulling pranks right under our noses" was about.

Kishi would have known there was a kiss in the moonlight.

I don't think Chatte will ever be wrong: I think she's found enough holes in the ending to show conclusively that Kishimoto had other plans in mind. And may even be making fun of the rest of the people he's beholden to by writing things his way instead of setting up a clean and simple NH romance.

No matter what happens, I hope she sticks to her guns and incorporates all her theories into a "Secret Ending" theory. Because she's shown us that there is certainly something going on in the manga's ending that we are meant to dig a little deeper for. It's not just wrapped up with a bow on top. We are meant to look underneath the underneath.

Another hug as a substitution for a like, lol. :snuggle:

I think it's safe to say we won this. All the asspulling that had to be done in order to bring us NH/SS, heck even a movie had to be made just so that they could "comfortably" contradict the entire manga. This is what happens when you take NS away, everything else comes tumbling down.

I guess many people are asking the same question: why couldn't they make it a NS romance movie? They wouldn't have to contradict/destroy the original manga and I guess general fandom would stomach NS ending way better than this Hyuuga wank fest. They had to totally destroy Sakura's development / Naruto's character to make SS canon and this pairing is nonexistent in the movie. All Kishi had to do is make Sakura move on... her moving on would be x1000 times more believable than Naruto suddenly becoming Hinata's brainless fanboy. This finale is so unnatural and insane that a sane person's brain will deny to even try processing this info. :twitch:

Even the plot is bad. I am literally seeing this as Pokemon First Movie bad but in Naruto edition. The villain changed his way and say bye bye. Unbelievable. This is straight out from Pokemon.

You wanted to say straight out from Kishi's ass? :zaru:

Honestly, I think the marketing dept decided to target girls instead of boys so they bumped up Hinata who looks the most Japanese of the whole manga. They can double dip the action and romance markets, and they can essentially restart with a new series from the movie.

They are trying to pick up a whole new audience from the movie, ones that are not manga-readers but will come for the romance. The message being sent with the 15-page promo and all the hard-sell NH advertising is that you don't need to read the manga to be involved in Naruto. The movie is the starting point for the new series and whatever's to come. That's why they are encouraging people to not look too deeply into what has come before.

I think they're trying to target a female audience and now they've given Naruto a female lead that looks more like a normal Japanese girl than anyone else in the manga. I think they've made her the face of the who they want to attract. And I seriously thing they're hoping the next gen series will take off with a new audience, and they can reboot the whole franchise for another 10+ years.

Naruto is a business, above everything else. So the decision to replace Sakura with HInata wasn't over pairing, it was over money.

Sad. In the end it's completely against what Naruto the character is about.

That's a shame. I always though that betraying one's own creation (for money or whatever reason) was like hitting the lowest of the low for writers/artists/etc. Even though Twilight was not the best fiction, Stephenie Morgan Meyer at least stayed true to her story and went the route she thought was right, not the one decided by fans.

I'm so utterly disgusted at Kishi and SP, ugh. What are morals? What is sanity??? :zaru:

@tricksie i'm out of likes, so here have a hug :glomp:
