#880423 What is considered canon in Naruto?

Posted by Toby on 07 October 2015 - 01:27 AM

^yeah that's why I write fanfiction

and then when people tell me I have no right to complain because people don't like hearing about my negative criticisms about a series that already ended, I think "But I like reading people's complaints about naruto, it actually inspires me!"  -basically-

can you see naruto being a leader? or a commander of a squad? i sure as hell cant. as a power battery sure but not someone who's able to place the pieces and shouldering tough decisions during short periods of time...

We saw what happened when Naruto became leader (aka hokage)

#880269 Boruto - the movie

In the movie Naruto gets mad when his son calls him "Dad" instead of "Seventh" while in the office, but back when Naruto was an orphan he called Sandaime and Godaime grampa and grandma and no one minded seriously.

#856385 Have your feelings towards Karin changed post Gaiden?

Posted by Toby on 12 July 2015 - 04:35 AM

Have to remember Karin risked her life to get the injured Sasuke to bite her already weakened form during the Killer Bee fight, before Jugo stepped in after realizing what she was about to do. It's not just creepy obsession but love too; love doesn't have to be in a romantic sense but that she would rather save Sasuke at her own expense; like comrades.
And there are those SasuSaku shippers who hate Karin and claim she feels only LUST towards Sasuke.
Lust can't make you self-sacrifice.

She was a comedic character but she had her serious moments.

Also, Naruto Gaiden was all about sinking ships when the world expected ninja adventures of the new gen.

I didn't gain any NEW respect for Karin, because she got over Sasuke ONLY because SasuSaku forced her character to. No other reason.
If anything, I lost some for Kishimoto =_=

What was the point of writing Naruto Gaiden?

The whole thing was a red herring, why would Kishimoto do that?

Naruto has millions of fans, so that gives room for loud extremists as with every popular fandom, and was part of their childhoods. There's always gonna be bias when it comes to an anime someone grew up with.

#839683 The Last: Naruto the Movie: Thread 2 aka The Last retcon: Hinata-sama the movie

Posted by Toby on 07 June 2015 - 05:12 PM

In the last, Naruto had multiple FANGIRLS lining up to give him presents.

Hinata comes along with a scarf to give to Naruto, then sees all those fangirls, and leaves. Sakura notices and chases after her to comfort Hinata.

Anyway, when I watched that, it really felt like Hinata was no different from those fangirls. What is Hinata to Naruto? A comrade who appreciates him, but so are all those girls. It leaves the impression that the only difference between Hinata and those fangirls is that Hinata had first dibs in her admiration (she began a decade earlier.)

SP did a bad move in making Naruto look so popular with the girls, it really makes Hinata's admiration not-so-special anymore. At the same time, it makes Naruto look like a prize to be won over the other degraded women.

#839295 If Sasuke had killed Naruto, would Sakura still be in love with him?

Posted by Toby on 07 June 2015 - 02:14 AM

Without Kishimoto's retcons,

Sakura started having feelings for Naruto so if Sasuke killed him, she'd probably feel the same hatred/vengeance Sasuke felt.

She would either go down the peace-maker path like Naruto after finally understanding true pain, or become an avenger after Sasuke.

I think

In the original Naruto manga, the emphasis was on the brotherly bond between Sasuke and Naruto. Kishimoto wrote that because he had a not-so-good relationship with his brother, for many years being a secluded-from-the-world mangaka and all. I guess he saw himself as Naruto and his real life brother as Sasuke when he wrote the series.

Kishimoto neglected his wife and children for 15 years to write Naruto and now he's trying to reconcile with his family again. So now that he's writing Naruto Gaiden, Sasuke goes through the exact same thing- having neglected his family for 12 years only to return to Sakura and Sarada, with a kinda bad relationship with his kid. Both were both off doing something "important" for the world.

gosh i hate sakura bashing. instead how bout some DEVELOPMENT? XD i mean, why not some positive instead of just tearing her to pieces and leaving her to rot in the corner?

You could say the same for Hinata.
Or any other character.

I bet Jiraiya spent most of his time on that training journey breaking the three prohibitions of the shinobi rather than actually training Naruto.

That embarrassingly makes it sound like Orochimaru was a better mentor than Jiraiya.

#797541 Should Sasuke Have Died?

Posted by Toby on 08 April 2015 - 06:45 PM

No..............................................Naruto's life goal was to bring Sasuke back. It would be Naruto's lifetime failure if Sasuke died.

#795341 Any ideas for my Naruto reboot?

Posted by Toby on 05 April 2015 - 01:24 PM

^I like everything but the fact of Neji staying dead.

IMO there's no point in killing him if you're not using it to set NaruHina sailing. Either keep him alive or kill him differently. I think Kishimoto should have killed him during the failed Sasuke retrieval arc or given him a massive fight before death, not have him jump in front of a rod and die x_x ............ unless he wanted this NaruHina moment, which you don't, I think. It's just something stupid for a great character to die over.

I also think NejiHina is better than Hinata x generic branch member. Neji's got leadership qualities and can build up Hinata's. I can't help but feel Hinata would be a pushover leader manipulated by other main house members.
If you do that, there should be parallels or flashbacks to the Neji vs Hinata fight to show that the Hyuuga has changed. And that this branch member, the same guy who was fighting so hard against the branch system, became either the clan head or clan head's husband.

Or Kiba could have her.

#795234 Any ideas for my Naruto reboot?

Posted by Toby on 05 April 2015 - 04:51 AM

it would have been better if Kaguya and the reincarnations didn't exist so that Sakura would have a bettter chance of being in equal standing with Naruto and Sasuke.

I hope for your reboot, you make them all equals.
That's what I'm attempting for my fanfic.
