Old argument. I told those shippers why blame Sakura when the entire village full of shinobi is also watching on. And not to mentioned that Hinata's carelessness could have been disastrous. If not naruto been pinned down by black-rods and Pain thought Naruto was already subdued, he would have taken Hinata hostage. I explained to those NHtards and none of them have a single braincell to comprehend what I said. Waste of time. 

 

 

Tell you the truth, the red herring I think is fake because he said after that NH was his OTP from the start. Two days later the pity interview and he stated that he wanted NH from the start of PT2. Then he changed his mind to popularity (which means NH was not from the start of PT 2 lol) and the heroine switched to be made. Not supporting him, but I think he said it to spare us mercy from the movie and the franchise. He wanted no NS fans to watch the movie and when found out SP set a trap from both the NS and SN fanbases with a 30 second video at the cinema. I might be wrong be who knows. 

Problem is when you flip-flop within two-days like that during interviews, someone told you to change your speech. He pass from pity love at it was all planned all along ( pity love for the movie that is about to come out about that love, I believe we call that bad business, won't you think:P)

Deep down, they're not happy with it. After all, Kishi basically said that it was out of pity. He develop NS as a red hering ( giving us right over them when we said we had development and even begin to doubt it was a red-herring, who develop more a red-herring than the main pairing). He said Naruto fall in love with Hinata in the last ( so he confirm he never love her during manga time) Last recton the story, just proving it is an ass-pull. They got their pairing canon for the wrong reason. They not happy about it, but don't want to lash on the author, so we're the perfect target, we represent they're fear, even if they're pairing is canon, it felt such like an ass-pull that they are insecure about it, afraid of an alternate ending. They would like everyone to hate NS or love NH, but even neutral fan begin to despise it because it cost the ending and the series too much, so they're afraid that they shift 180 backward. Junko, an editor believe it was NS endgame. NH happen but it wasn't glorious for them.

It's like when you cheat to win a game and people aren't sure but have suspicion. You won in the record, but in your heart, you know you haven't.

 

Same here. I don't want him to get close to NaruSaku ever again, he did enough damage as it is and I would feel like we won the silver medal and unlike Hinata, I don't accept pity love.

I disagree with you. If he redo the ending and make it Narusaku, I won't take it as a silver medal. Because the whole story develop about it, it was the logical ending. Making NH canon, then have outside media (other than the manga) like filler and a movie that recton the story to make it more believable, that is pity love ( especially since he admit it in a interview that he has pity for Hinata).

NS was the ending that was clearly plan, making an ending for them is no silver medal, I'll see it as an attempt to repair his story ( plus it might change and explain other thing like Taka whereabout, since Karin doesn't have to disappear out of convenience.) 

I'd like to offer my contribution.

When you talk about Naruto part 3( do you talk about a time skip like what kishi intend to do or a part 3 not so long about the war? )

If it is the latter, my idea for a part 3 would be a jonin exam arc. Where Kakashi train Naruto and Sakura respectively and it focus on develop Naruto skill in leadership. For the jonin exam, Naruto cannot use kurama chakra, because it will be too easy otherwise.

If anyone made a story, it should address in my opinion those points: 

-Funeral

- Sasuke's trial

- taka orochimaru and Kabuto's future

- SS, NH and NS resolution

- The aftermath of the war.

- How kakashi become hokage (though it could be handle quite easily, the part 3 would be more focus as him being hokage)

- Relationship between the village, how it is handle, the war is over, so now the common enemy is gone.

- Tailed beast where about

- MOST IMPORTANTLY Naruto view of peace and him attaining the Hokage title significant, it was the main objective, that what disappointed me the most in the ending. Naruto just pop out hokage in the future and there is no triumph, no celebration, no nothing.

I DON'T BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE CONSIDER THE MAIN ENDING FOR AN ENTIRE FANDOM, but it got element that I believe could help and be interesting to adapt. If people want to use idea from it, feel free or just PM me. It's quite long but if you find the point I've made valid, I've treat all of them in it, some better than other, it was my first long story in English that I ever wrote. I've made an epilogue with Naruto's family, to not show him as a bad father, but that not really necessary to have a future time-skip that goes that far. And it lack that Jonin exam arc or anything to develop Naruto as a leader, I've mention how to make him and Sakura growth  but I didn't develop on it.

isn't it what they already did. I mean they recton the whole story to fit their universe, in my book this is an alternate universe. That's wh for me, Naruto never get the ending that was originally intend for it. We're in an AU were Hinata got every thing she desire.

I understand what he meant, but at the same time, why this event? We never seen anything in the story looking like the 9/11. Plus you threat the war aspect really poorly. We never saw any trial for Sasuke. Orochimaru disappear in nature. At the same time, do you want us to tried to understand people who manipulate other, put gun in children hand and go send their people blow themselves up?

Plus you just don't say things like that in an interview. You go general, like war and terrorism inspire my story.

 

If that's what Kishi meant by midway, I suppose his comment makes a little more sense, but the contradiction still remains in the sense that his justification for putting Naruto with Hinata is equally applicable to a justification that puts Naruto with Sakura. The only difference being that he'd be pitying the main character instead of a side character.
 

My problem with this theory:  Can we call what Hinata felt for Naruto Love? To me, she stalk him. Compare to Sakura or any other kid, she knew he was bullied, that he was in difficulty but just wasn't act to at least give him support or anything in the manga canon. Sakura (12 years) was a jerk to him, granted, but so does any kids because they didn't know about him and their parent told them not to hang around him. Naruto did prank and could have been seen as a bad influence back then, which justify what their parent told them. Hinata was the only character who could have seen and help him however, even if it were not publicly but she didn't, which to me means she somehow selfish in her "love vision" and more cruel in a way more than the other kid, because she had knowledge of how Naruto truly felt. When Sakura got a reality check from Sasuke, once she got the knowledge, she begin to be nicer to Naruto and got closer to him, for real.

Plus Naruto had feeling for Sakura from the start and she begin to develop some for him too. My problem with this whole situation is that they destroy all that just for a recton to make NH canon. You give the motto of never give up to your main character too. You see how far he was going for Sasuke by the end and how he never give up on him. He was like 1 good conversation away to be with Sakura and he just give up on her, because all his love for her wasn't real, but to RIVAL SASUKE. REALLY?? Sasuke, who got attention from Karin, Ino and every girls in the manga. If it was for that, why Naruto only go after Sakura then? Only plausible explanation for that theory to work would be if  Sasuke love Sakura, but that  clearly wasn't the case so, that point make no sense).

See Hinata, she smile, showing that she can go on living without Naruto if he ended up with Sakura.. After all her years of stalking, she should know Naruto feeling for Sakura and not once did she care. Naruto on the other end always take Sakura's feeling into account (POALF). 

I cannot believe that Kishi planned Naruto to be with Hinata and never develop on it at all, if it was plan for so long. Naruto never felt love for Hinata until the movie, so why was is so much plan then?

 

Still doesn't excuse it. If he were to be true to himself, he would've fought for it. There were others that did so too! But he didn't care anymore, I guess...

The deal is that if he would've wanted, he could've fought. Naruto is already such a big name, he had all the weapons on why to conitue and I guarantee you that he would've made it out, given that NH and SS combined can't match all the others combined.

But he didn't and chose the easy way out. Like he always did in his manga.... accountability zero, remember? He always chosed the easy way out - death.

So he did with this series... he killed it when he could've stayed and FIGHT!

Ironically the motto of the hero was to never give up. In the end, Kishi give up on Naruto and so Naruto give up this motto too.

Wait, now you're telling me that they were cancel NS poster due to the NH ending. That just prove how last minute that decision was made.

YOu know what sad. Hinata character took Naruto dream. We never see him become Hokage. Wasn't it the whole point of this manga.

- Get Sakura's love

- Surpass every Hokage before him

- bring peace.

-His way of the ninja : Never give up

None of that actually happen in the manga. He's Hokage because of REASONS (he was never shown as a leader of a team or anything. We always seen a brash Naruto with no strategy forethought) Sakura, I rather not talk about it again .

1st 2nd and 3rd are still more awesome and powerful than him. Part 3 happening told you that this peace is temporary. Where is the moment of triumph where he become Hokage, his friend by his side. When was he show as a great leader who as inspire other. How come showing him sucking as a dad that worry more about image than about his kid is a good ending? Where is his happiness.

Nothing happen of the sort. He just become a douchebag who give up on all of those point up there. Only Hinata. The love interest that pop out of nowhere who got a new backstory that make no sense. Everything for her happy ending because that what we care about right? I know it's been a while but it still hurt to think about it. I cannot play a Naruto game or with the card, without thinking about that ending.

For me, the whole war arc was bad. But I endure it, thinking the ending will be worth it ( especially because I wanted to see the end since it'S been too long to stop reading it) GOD WAS I WRONG LOL.

I mean I never wanted to develop a NH story in the manga, but made sure as hell to show that both Naruto and Sakura as feeling fr each other just to troll my reader by the end of it. What kind of sick bastard are you? Just come straight and tell you were forced or you finally agreed.

Ok, i've been really busy for the last 48h and haven't had any updates, so please tell me if the kitten is real or if Chatte's theory is real or if the latest spoilers on the last page are real.

So I rather lie to you. Movie was cancel and Kishi said that every NS fanfiction alternate ending to the manga is canon. 699-700 are in a parallel universe. Chatte theory was so awesome that they remaking the last as we speak

Sad that he really thought people would forget the story.

Remember Naruto was suppose to be a shonen manga, not a bad shojo ( or whatever the name for romance manga). You lost the general fan there. Than half the movie if not 3/4 is about that and 95% of advertising promote this, trying to justify the mess and hope to make you forgot the main plot. Plus making the movie to catch up the manga. You lost a lot of people there.

You lost every NS fans, Non-shipper and you seem to lost SS fan along the way the more the movie advance. Some NH fan are disappointed by the ending and felt their pairing become canon for the wrong reason, some of those might not see it. LEaving NH and Hinata die hard fan, but even in that group, some won't go see the movie in theater, because they might be in the type that doesn't go see anime movie in theater.

I expect this formula to be a money grabbing thing. But the way it turned out, thanks to Kishi interviews, show it to the world somehow. Plus by the time it come out, some people find closure and didn't need that movie. Plus as I said before, when you promote the last in September, we didn't expect it to be a NH movie as Hinata the main character. That's where it went wrong.  Instead of celebrating all the character we knew for 8-15 years, you decide to make every main character OOC and a side character in the main event spot.

My brother and I come to the point where we think Hinata's got schizophrenia and that movie is all play in her head. Only logical explanation (and the whole genjutsu theory).

Great thread name!! I for one will not be watching the trailer or the movie. They already got me on the chapter endings, when I worked so hard to not get spoiled, only to have my heart broken when I read the chapter. They won't get me a second time.

 

For me the manga through 698 is an entirely separate thing than the last two chapters and this movie. It's like they might as well be a different series.

You said it Tricksie. Maybe it's because I watch too much Fringe recently (I start season 4) , but I believe what happen after 698 is from a parallel universe. That's how the world change if Sakura didn't move on from  Sasuke and if Naruto decide to chose Hinata. The Naruto's world fall apart (Hinata is the main character now)  and we have an unhappy future to end the manga.

For those who wonder, this is a part from my story. I had most of of NS moment from Naruto and Sakura POV. I didn't even begin with parallel and character like Kakashi saying she move on from Sasuke.  I show at the same time in this scenario why NH and SS doesn't make sense. By writing this, I really believe he did sell out, but it help me get at least and certain feeling of closure from a pairing perspective.
