Rain.

Hate it when it rains. Doesn't matter though, hating the rain won't make it stop. I look up at it, blonde hair blocking my view of the cold night sky. I reach into my pocket, and find a kunai. Sharp little thing, cut my finger abit, doesn't matter - will heal soon. I move at a steady pace through the empty streets of Kohanakagure.

Streets are empty because war makes people paranoid. No one goes out at night. No one says "Hello" to a new stranger. Might be a spy, gotta watch em. I smile, not a happy smile, but a contemplative one. Gonna be Hokage soon, gonna protect the whole damn city. Make sure that those Oto basterds don't set a damn foot in my town. This is my town, this is my rain, and they can't have a damn drop.

I reach the wall, and nod to the Chuunin that guard it, will those two ever get promoted? Don't know, they do their job well, so I don't care. The forest whizzes past me as I move through the branches, got a mission, real secret. Real dangerous. Old Lady Tsunade tells me it could end the war, I don't believe her. Ninja's train to kill, to murder and to move on, ain't never gonna be an end to war, not til men and women learn to get along. Not til everyone realizes that precious people are rare, and need to be protected, not attacked.

I'll make em see. With fist and knife I'll make em see. I reach the small town, easy to see why she said it could end the war. Filled with those Oto Basterds, see a few prominant figures. Use Kage Bushin, keep it quiet though, and henge myself into a small group of refugee's. I stick an explosive tag, or ten, on each of them. I send them in, dancing and singing and shouting in joy that they are safe from the Demon.

Ya, I'm the demon. The big scary fox that's gonna drag these basterds right back to hell. I form a single hand sign.

"Katsu."

The ground shakes like some giant beast setting it's foot down. The coppery smell of blood fills my nose and I can hear the moans of the survivors. Doesn't matter, I've crippled their forces. Tommarow, The Cherry Blossum and The Snake will come and wipe them out. I've done my job. Time to go home.

A shadow jumps at me, I move before the flash of the blade can slice too deep into my skin. Survivvor, barely alive, barely a challange. A Rasengan to his stomach and his innards paint the forest red. Shoulda known better. This is my town. They ain't allowed here. I make it home and the sun is coming up, people are coming out.

New Day in Ninja City.

New Day to kill. New Day for Missions.

I look up at the sun, and smile for real this time.

OOC: So, because of the positive response, I've decided to post a second chapter. Here it is - Chapter Two of Ninja City: The Big Bad Cherry Tree


Sun hits my face, and I'm forced to drag myself out of bed.

Bed is cold, The Fox must've had a mission last night. Never tells me when he does, knows I'll worry. The hot water that runs down my body brings my mind out of it's fog, and I hear the door open. Can smell the blood from here, that sweet coppery scent. I know he can hear the shower, and I know he'll join me soon.

The Fox moves in behind him, calloused hands caress soft flesh and I cry out his name as we make love. He goes to bed, I go to work. The hospital smells of death and decay, war does that. Old Lady Tsunade sends The Little Monkey after me, got a mission, I save the life of the injured ninja I was working on and go meet her.

A Mission, with The Snake. No shock there. Gotta clean up the Fox's mess probably. I felt the ground shake last night, The Fox knows no subtly. Love him anyway. Crazy Blonde Bastard. I put on my gloves and my gear, and I meet The Snake outside, he's stoic as ever. I smile to him. He nods to me, and we're gone.

The view from the roofs is beautiful, never guess that less then a year ago blood coated the streets, but that was then, this is now. We move past the two Chuunin at the gate, do those two ever sleep? Judging by the rings under their eyes, I would guess not. Snake is silent beside me, doesn't talk much. I move toward the smoke in the distance and land just outside the camp.

Blood paints the forest, as a man with his insides spiraled out finds my sight, survivor, dead now. Fox's work.

Snake and I comb the area, a few people barely left alive, barely any fight are easy to kill. One hit and their bodies explode like a pinata, ya, I'm the Cherry Tree. The Big Bad Cherry Tree.

Snake cuts through the remains like a hot knife through skin, burning all that remains. We move on, another camp is our primary mission. Another bunch of Oto slime that think they're good enough to take us down.

Takes a day, but we find them recognize the man in the center. Names Kabuto, he's a real bastard, a traitor, and hard as a cockroach to kill. Doesn't matter, we kill him anyway. Snake and I tag team him after wiping out his forces, they were nothing. Paper to a sharpened knife. He cuts me though, cuts me deep. Bleeding real bad, but Snake takes advantage, kills the traitor. Mission Accomplished.

I stop the blood, and need to sit. The smell of burning bodies fills my nose, burnt flesh, you never get used to it. Almost lose my lunch, but don't. Bastards thought they could come to our city, our forest, and attack us. Fools. The journey home is slow, I'm still hurting. We get to the gates, and I smile.

This is our city. Our home.

They ain't welcome here.

I think it's only fair to have one from Sasuke's point of view if he's going to be a main character.

Yes, Sasuke will be a main character if I ever make this full length, I am planning one from his POV.

The warm sun rises over the hills, and the fresh blood stains my clothes.

The Big Bad Cherry Tree heads to my left, headed home to The Fox. When she's gone, I smile. Can't let her see it though. Can't let them know I'm happy for them. Gotta keep the facade up. There are days I want to step outside and sing and dance, and laugh at all the foolish things The Fox does. Can't though. War is here, gotta be serious.

Rainbow curls across the sky as the sun rises and the rain from the night mix. I land on a roof top and look around, still early, still quiet. No one's going to come out until The Masks do their patrols. Cowards. War makes civilians shiver with fear, it makes shinobi shiver with anticipation. This is what were bred for, this is why we die for. I land infront of a small stand, The Fox's Favorite.

The pretty young woman takes my order, I don't flirt with her. I barely acknowledge her as I order my Miso Ramen with extra tomatos. Would like to though. Nice girl. Her father starts to cook, and I can smell the heavy scent of the food fill my nose. The bowl clangs to the table before me, when a Chuunin lands beside me and slips a piece of paper into my pocket. I finish my meal, and read the paper.

Time for more death. Not tired from the Mission, go home, get clean, and head right back out. They say this is the Fourth Great Shinobi War. bullsh**. War between Shinobi never stop. It will never stop, afterall, what good is training from the age of six to kill someone, if you don't use it? I head right back out of the village, The Two Chuunin that guard the gate wave at me as I leave.

Single Mission. Got a woman to kill. Her names Karin. She works for Oto. Seems she's held up in a cave working on experiments for The Corpse. Better kill her quick. The caves not hard to find, not hard to find at all. She's got long red hair, and bottled glasses. She damn near tries to rape me when she spots me, something about true love.

Doesn't matter, put a Chidori through her body, burn the corpse. I smile. Damn Oto Basterds. I head back home. The smell of fresh death on me. The sun just reaching it's peak in the sky. I laugh, alone in the woods where no one can hear me. Can't break the mask, doesn't matter now though. I can see home.

I am The Snake. I'm supposed to be cold and emotionless.

I'm supposed to strike with cold precision, and I do. These Oto basterds are trying to take from me the little bit of family I have left.

They can't have my family, my home.

Two mistakes: It's spelled Konohagakure, and Haruno. Other than that, pretty interesting. The way you write their sentences makes me feel like I'm listening to Rorschach from Watchmen though... XD

Rorschach speaks in a very film noir, detective novel type. So yes, it would sound like him.

Ah, ok. Noir was very much before my time, obviously. Still, pretty interesting so far.

The scent of blood is strong this morning, burning flesh on the air as the moon shines down on me. Night time in Kohonakagure. It's quiet. Too damn quiet. I look up, and see a orange blur with a golden top move past me.

The Fox is out hunting tonight. I grin. Go kill em Fox. Rip those bastards stomachs out and piss on their cooling corpses. The Pup nudges my leg and I reach out and scratch him behind his big ears and move the opposite way of The Fox. His mission is loud, obtrusive, angry.

Mines quiet tonight. No Fly. No Blind Princess. Just me and The Pup. We leave out the south gate, and I nod to the two Chuunin that guard the gate. I swear these two must be bushins of some kind. I never see them not at the gate. I take out the torn piece of cloth and take a deep breath.

Smells like oil, blood and sex. Smells like a whore. A whore that has information, information that we need. Her trail isn't hard to follow, it's like tracking a little kid through a junge gym. Leads me to a small camp, a man with a musical note on his head seems to be partaking in her services. I put a kunai through her cheeks as a warning and cut his d*ck off. Only takes one throw.

I leap out of the shadows, a spinning, growling, howling ball of death and rip him to shreds. I paint The Pup red with blood, and the whore is crying in pain. I ask nicely for the information. She doesn't give it. I smile. Scar will have a good time with this one. I toss the whore over my shoulder, stuffing her mouth with the sound nins d*ck, and taping it shut so she can't scream.

I smile as I run back with her. The War's almost over, but it won't ever truly be. There are no true alliances in our world, there are no true enemies. I land just outside the walls, when I spot a small group of them, trying to sneak in. I smirk. I knock the whore out, and lay her on a branch. I signal to The Pup, and the slaughter begins.

We paint the forest red this night, beautiful under the moonlight, their bodies go back to the earth. That's the only thing they'll ever do for Kohona. They'll feed our goddamn trees with their corpses. They want it all, they can't have it. I grin, as the last one drops under my claws, and I can smell the blood so strong now. I look up at the moon and howl loud and long, The Pup joins me.

Mission is completed. Time to take the whore to Scar. Time to go back to bed, time to dream of peace, an impossible dream. I will do all I can to keep my pack safe. To keep The Fly and The Princess safe.

I just read your little stories and I have to say it's so unique that I'm liking this, keep up the good work. This last one was just painful when kiba did that to the sound nin.
