I had a feeling something like this was going sooner or later. But for some reason this part reminds of Bleach, when all of the captains fought against Aizen in the Winter war and remember how well that turned out. 
The kages may do better then the captains did, but it may end the same way. Then it will be up to Naruto to kick Madaras a#$.
