Same pairing, but (at least for me) when I purposely switch the order I'm implying who's top/dom in the coupling much like yaoi fangirls indicate whether a fic is actually SasuNaru (uke Naru) or NaruSasu (seme Naru). It's a concept I hadn't encountered before Naruto fandom. XD

In Topic: Naruto and Sakura are in denial

Ooooh, I really like this theory. It had never occured to me before that Naruto might be in denial (or just scared) and keeps preventing Sakura from saying how she feels. That's kind of angsty though no wonder I like it.

I went and looked at that chapter where she brushes off his mention of a "walk, almost like a date" and he was actually lying when he said that's what he'd just been thinking of (really he'd just been angsting over Sasuke) so it could be that she knew he wasn't being serious. It's kind of an interesting interaction between the two.

Even though I'd read the manga chapter before, in the first Shippuden ep when he runs up to her for a moment I *actually* thought he was going to hug her. It seemed so natural, at that moment. But it's not surprising to me since (in my understanding) the Japanese view touching/PDA between opposite sexes differently than Americans do. It almost seems more realistic in my cultural mind set for them to have hugged there since I (and most girls I know) certainly would have. I hug my guy friends goodbye on a regular basis, so imagine seeing an exceptionally close one for the first time in nearly 3 years. :3

I'm not holding out for much considering it's a shounen series but romantic shounen has been on a rise lately so maybe we'll get lucky by the end.

In Topic: Favorite NaruSaku Moment?

Too hard to pick a favorite, so Imma go with a more recent: When they're in the hotsprings (Shippuden 36-37) and and Naruto is all "Stop looking at it, stop talking about kittens." And Sai says, "Even Sakura's happy to hear it." To which Naruto's all, "...Sakura-chan? HEEHEE *pervs*" Which is totally adorable, and I still love it. XD And I loved his wanting to peek on her but being too scared and then dreaming about her beating him up for it. love.gif

I like the whole Naruto acting like an idiot/purposely antagonizing her + Sakura overly beating up on him dynamic. I don't think that would change, but probably lessen a bit in frequency/intensity as they become more comfortable with each other. Which I feel like has been slowly happening along the way. Even Sai commented on how tender Sakura is toward Naruto at times compared to her treatment of others. Well, you could also say Sakura is tender toward Lee and Sasuke but I like to think for different reasons than she is toward Naruto.

Hm, I dunno I guess I just think their dynamic already works well as a couple. This is how I imagine it (in semi-drabble format lulz):


Naruto rushes forward, impatiently and gets caught up in the giant, branch-flailing, grimm fairytale like tree. Struggling against the gnarled branches where they wind around his torso and arms: "Lemme go-ttebayo!"

Sakura, sighing, decimates the trunk of the tree with a concentrated blow. "That's why I said to wait."

He picks himself up off the ground with a grunt to indicate his understanding (and gratitude), already concentrating on forming the rasengan, eyes set on their opponent.


She's a good support role for him, and is one of the few people genuinely looking out for his safety because she cares for him. And yes, I think they'd have hot hot bunny sex as well. :3
