Though I don't like how she tells Naruto that he only loved her because he didn't want to lose to Sasuke. That's just awful.

Don't hate Sakura for this. The way I think of it is that she was starting to reciprocate his feelings, but wanted him to affirm his feelings for her one last time before entering into a relationship with him because she needed to be sure that he was truly in love with her instead of simply being infatuated due to some other reason.

To her surprise, Naruto did not deny the claim at all, causing Sakura to think that what she said might indeed have been the truth. With that, she decided to take a step back in order to allow Naruto to be happy. The thought that he might have been doing the same for her never crossed her mind.
