I dare somebody to tell me that Naruto doesn't like Sakura in some way after that face. The first time he actually smile genuinely.

that smile. where has that smile been?

and it's involving something with sakura. that just shows me that naruto didn't pick hinata. he settled for her. 

Yeah but it's also about being handed a silver medal disguised as a gold medal aka Hinata.

and hinata and her fans got what they wanted without her doing any real work. if she really loved naruto, where the hell was she when his arm got kittened up, or when jiraiya died? you know, the closest thing he had to a father? if she really knew naruto, she'd know how close he was to pervy sage. but where was she? oh that's right. she was hiding behind a tree while sakura did all the work. 

the key to any pairing is time and development. if you are gonna put two people together, show us WHY they would be together. perfect example: levy and gajeel from fairy tail. it certainly didn't start out with them on the best of terms (he kinda beat her and her team up and nailed them to a tree) but over time, they got better. she forgave him for beating her up and he went out of his way to protect her when he really didn't have to. over time, they grew closer to the point where they are a couple in all but name alone. that's how you do a proper relationship.

if SS/NH was kishi's endgame then he is the kittentiest mangaka ever, in terms of romance. sakura has never really stated why she loved sasuke. she just went with the trends of her classmates in kitten-riding him. and sasuke showed nothing in terms of romantic feelings for her in anyway. hinata liked naruto, sure enough, but she NEVER DID ANYTHING ABOUT IT! she didn't talk with him, got to know him, worked with him, etc. and naruto showed no romantic interest in her what so ever. this is not how you do romance!!

look, like everyone else, i would've accepted the ending if it was done RIGHT! i've seen romance done in other shojo manga. it can be done. it's not impossible. but kishi kittened it up. he served us a kitten sandwich and expects us to eat it. sad to say, a lot of people are eating that kitten sandwich and smiling like that reindeer on "eight crazy nights". 

 

In light of the sheer unreality of Naruto's conduct and the discarding of his longest and most personal pursuits to earn Sakura's love, Hinata has no right to speak of anyone else's mantra, especially not Naruto's. He's a hypocrite that abandoned the deep-rooted affections he held for Sakura, just to appease the unwanted Hyuga who accomplished nothing for herself aside from being a trophy wife. 

exactly. hinata really has no development beyond stalking naruto. her "ninja way" is just copying naruto's to be close to him. hinata didnt really work for naruto. she didnt have the balls to talk to him, hang out with him, learn why he does what he does, etc. sakura could read naruto like a book. she knew when he was upset or hurt and just hiding it with a smile. hey, remember when naruto was fighting tobi before the war and he got knocked back into the water. hinata was worried about him, thinking he was really hurt. sakura, OTOH, kept her eyes on tobi and told hinata not to worry about him since that wasn't an attack that would really hurt him. 

that shows that sakura knew naruto better than hinata ever did or ever will. 

this is how i think it should've ended:

naruto and sakura get married, with him as hokage and her as head medic ninja, with two kids: minato,a 12 year old genin with wild blonde hair and deep green eyes who possesses his father's energy and slightly perverted streak and his mother's intelligence and temper . his sister is kushina,a little 2 year old toddler with pink hair and blue eyes. naruto loves being hokage but hates the paper work, hence why he has ino as his assistant and leader of the interrogation unit. sakura does house work and hates it when naruto is late for dinner and/or invites others over without a word. she wonders how she could marry such a fool but everyone knows that she loves him dearly. minato finds all of this funny and endearing since he sees it all the time. his greatest rival is gizen, the son of gaara, who is one of the sand's top ninja and naruto's godfather. gizen respects and admires naruto as a leader and ninja but treats poor minato like a loser and calls him a talent-less brat.

his team is lead by shina, daughter of a retired kakashi and anko. he sees shina as a older sister who spends her time reading the pervy stories his father writes in his spare time.

i would keep going but i took some headache meds and my mind is turning to mud.
