I'll say this to any SasuSaku/NaruHina shipper that kittenes about their pairing(s) not becoming canon:

"I am not the type that would say I told you so. Sometimes, the hardest part about holding on is letting it go. Athough I would be glad to symphasize with you on this, it was pretty much your fault for getting your hopes way too high in the first place. Kishimoto had this pairing planned from the beggining and it is not our fault if you automatically assumed your favorite pairing(s) would become canon. Honestly, I find it amusing that your making such a big fuss over something so insignificant. You dug yourself into this hole and now you need to dig yourself out and move on with your life."

How is this not saying "I told you so"?

It's a very elaborate way of doing so IMO. tongue.gif

Allow me to explain. I symphasize with the fact that you get your hopes up high only to be let down in the end and I personally dislike gloating in people's faces. However (if NaruSaku does become canon), if they continue to whine about it, I will tell them to please grow up and move on. I'll probably encourage them to go back and pick up on all those subtle hints throughout the manga, seeing each scene under a different light. I mean, if Kishimoto makes a pairing canon, wouldn't he have planned it from the start? To me, it doesn't matter if the pairing becomes canon or not. I just want a quality story and if there is romance, it would help if it made sense and was mutual. So far, NaruSaku is literally the only pairing with mutual two-sided development in romantic connotation thus why I support it.

Anything else you want me to clairify?

I'd simply enjoy the moment and move on. I admit that I am curious as to how NaruHina and SasuSaku supporters would react, but I expect that they would be curious about my reaction as well (if their pairings occur). But that's all. I see no reason to rub it in their face or "destroy" all things NaruHina and SasuSaku. Would you want the same if NaruSaku does not happen and their pairings do?

And I think Nick's right, Arsene. While you don't say the words directly to their face, you criticize them for their dedication, which is just another way of saying the same thing.

Technically, I just wrote that for fun but whatever.

I'm not trying to criticize their dedication (If it sounded like it did, I apologize but keep in mind it is terribly unlikely i'll actually post this message). What i'm trying to criticize is that they shouldn't have made such a large fuss over what happened or assumed that Kishimoto would make it canon (if NaruSaku becomes canon). Hell, I think NaruSaku has a high chance of happening but i won't say something utterly retarded like "IT''LL BE CANON WHETHER YA LIKE OR NOT, f***ERS!" I mean, wouldn't constant posts saying "OMFG NARUSAKU IS CANON1111!!! YOU KILLED MY LOVE OF THE SERIES YOU STUPID f***!" get rather annoying after a while?

Realistically, i'll just enjoy the moment. If they do complain, i'll probably go "Dude, calm down. It's not that big of a deal" or something like that.

Technically, I originally wrote this out of amusement but this would technically be what I would say if I see numerous posts and threads with people complaining about NaruSaku becoming canon (if it does happen):

"In these rare cases, the phrase 'I told you not to get your hopes up so high' never seemed so appropriate, yet so harsh. Athough I symphasize with you on this, I personally think you really shouldn't have gotten your hopes way too high in the first place and assume it would automatically become canon. Why are you letting your fondness for the series be crushed just because something you hoped for didn't happen? We don't always get what we want in life and that is fact. An author cannot please all of his audience and the author must accept this otherwise he may never be able to continue the story. Honestly, I find it disappointing that your making such a big fuss over this yet oddly I feel sympathy because you hoped for your pairings to become canon, much like myself. I'm not trying to be mean, but I believe you should really move on with your life and just enjoy the rest of the series."

Better?

Weaken her down I say!

Or even better: avoid NF. happy.gif

I'm actually gonna do the impossible and take NF on, anybody want to come along for a ride to hell and back? B)

Sure I'll post my response on NF, but not until later. I was writing a response when I lost my work. I hate rewriting posts, so I'll do it later.

I've actually done the NF thing before for a few days. And i'm sure you all will run into the same problem that i did. No matter how much sense you make, no matter how much logic and reference from the manga/anime you put into your statements.

There are people that are just as thick-headed and are dead set for SasuSaku. So eventually you're like WTF >_< what more do you people need, the virgin mary!

That's when I decided to leave NF alone.

Most debators never look outside the context of the story and ask "Why did Kishimoto include this?"

I've gathered the evidence. I've looked up stories that inspired it Naruto, the themes of the characters, and the evidence for each pairing. NaruHina does not stand a chance since Hinata is so insignificant to the main storyline and Sasuke will never return Sakura's feelings unless Kshimoto just does a complete 180 on his development. Sakura has already shown signs that her feelings for Sasuke may have become more platonic (her expressions are similar to Naruto's and they are always on the same page). Nothing so far has suggested that she still obsessed with him and it looks like she's done a hell of a lot of thinking these past 2.5 years.

I mean, she's second to Shikamaru in intellegence. She'll no doubt recognize the futility of trying to gain Sasuke's affection. Plus, with parallels to "The Tale of the Galliant Jiraiya", his empahsis on Heaven and Earth, and with subtle yet consistent development throughout the series, it seems Kishimoto had NaruSaku planned from the beggining. Hell, NaruSaku experienced more development than both NaruHina and SasuSaku not to mention they had a hell lot more interaction. SasuSaku's interaction was hindered by Sasuke's loner attitude and NaruHina's interaction was hindered by Hinata's shyness.

There is a reason why he did this, people.

There is no indication that Sakura's romantic feelings for Sasuke grew beyond a crush. She genuinely cared for him, but you don't need to be in love with somebody in order to care for them. NaruSaku is the only pairing that had any mutal development and I became NaruSaku when Sakura was willing to give up on Sasuke and sacrifice her happiness if it would spare him the pain, much like Naruto was willing to sacrifice his happiness for her. In chapter 181, Sakura brings up that she knows about his clan and that revenge isn't the answer, yet she has no idea who he wants revenge against.

Meh, i'm done ranting. Later.

And if it really came down to it, Sasuke still wouldn't kill Naruto. That simple.

Sasuke hasn't killed Naruto. You cannot say wouldn't because he hasn't been put in a position where killing Naruto is necessary. Like, we've seen in the manga Naruto hasn't really done anything to Sasuke besides get on his nerves and continually try to get him back. There would be no point in killing him.

Now if Naruto did something like tell Sasuke, he was going after Itachi before he could. Yeah, Sasuke would probably kill Naruto, because he's saved that pleasure for himself. He believes its his right.

QUOTE
After exclaiming that Sai woke him up for "bonds", Sasuke and Sai have a brief exchange of jutsu, with Sasuke winning. Because of the force generated from the chakra of the jutsu, Sasuke's room's walls and ceiling caved outward, leaving Sai and Sasuke staring at each other for a moment. At this exact moment, Sakura spots Sai in the hallway and runs to him and would have probably punched him if not for Sasuke quietly saying Sakura's name, stopping her in her tracks. Naruto, in his weakened state, finally catches up amid heavily labored breathing. Seeing Sai and Sakura not moving and starring in the same direction leads Naruto to come face to face with Sasuke, staring directly in each other's eyes.

As Sasuke observes the new Team Kakashi from above, Sai explains to Naruto and Sakura that his desire to protect the bond between Naruto and Sasuke had overridden the mission that Danzo had given him. Sasuke then says that he has broken his bond of friendship with Naruto, and the only bond he has left was the bond of hatred he shared with Itachi. Sasuke left Naruto alive before on a whim; now, he will kill Naruto. Sasuke then shows off his new powers by moving down next to Naruto with blinding speed and tells Naruto that someone who dreams of becoming Hokage shouldn't risk it all by chasing after one man.

As both Sai and Yamato move to try and protect Naruto, Sasuke shows them a new product of his training: Chidori Current, allowing him to project a Chidori-like effect from all over his body, both defensively and offensively. As Naruto and Sai lie stunned on the ground due to this jutsu, while Sasuke deals with Sakura and Yamato. Sakura realizes the nature of this jutsu, but still attempts to attack Sasuke with her monstrous strength, but is blocked by Yamato, who ended up impaled by the Kusanagi sword Sasuke was wielding. Sasuke then proceeds to flow the Chidori down the sword, effectively paralyzing Yamato. Sasuke looks down to see Naruto dragging himself over to him and Yamato. Naruto has partially transformed into the Kyubi, with his eyes turning red and slit-like, his whisker-marks deepening, hair becomes spikier, and his fingernails turning into claws. Meanwhile, in Naruto's mind, he comes face to face with the demon fox Kyubi, who implores him to use his Kyubi power. When Naruto refuses, the demon scoffs, saying Naruto has always come to him in times of need and that Naruto is worthless without his power. Suddenly, Sasuke somehow also appears in front of the Kyubi (stunning both Naruto and Kyubi), and marvels at finally finding the source of Naruto's power. Sasuke can clearly see the Kyubi inside Naruto and appears to be able to seal its power from within Naruto.

Kyubi then remembers his past history with the Uchiha clan. And states how the Uchiha may possess chakra even more evil than his own "just like that Uchiha Madara".

As Sasuke represses the Kyubi's chakra, the fox leaves him with a strange message:

"Don't kill Naruto, you would regret it."

Outside of Naruto's mind, Yamato manages to escape from Sasuke's hold and body-numbing Kusanagi sword by using a Mokuton jutsu to push it out of his wound. He quickly then tries to hold Sasuke in a Mokuton prison but Sasuke quickly breaks through and jumps on a nearby cliff rendering Yamato's jutsu useless.

Sasuke looks down on Team 7. Naruto yells out to Sasuke that Orochimaru is just using Sasuke for his body, to which Sasuke tells Naruto that if it helps to kill Itachi then he doesn't care. That neither he nor Orochimaru is powerful enough to defeat Itachi and he will do whatever it takes. Yamato then tells Naruto and Sakura that he didn't want to hurt Sasuke in front of them but he has no choice now and will "finish this". To which Sasuke also replies he will "finish this" as Sasuke begins to form hand seals.

Orochimaru returns just in time to stop Sasuke from performing a "certain jutsu" (we are left wondering what it is). Kabuto also tells Sasuke that letting the Konoha shinobi manage the other Akatsuki would make his revenge easier by 1%. Sasuke tells Kabuto that's a poor excuse to not kill Naruto. Sasuke then leaves with Orochimaru and Kabuto, leaving Naruto and his teammates alone. Naruto feels completely helpless and upset from the shallow encounter. He feels that once again he was powerless to stop Sasuke from leaving and begins to cry. Naruto and Sakura are also clearly upset that Sasuke is no longer the same person they used to know. Sakura, with tears in her eyes, tells Naruto that feeling sorry for himself will not save Sasuke. She reminds him that she's still here and that together they will get stronger. Sai reminds the team that they still have about six months left to save Sasuke and that he'll join them with helping bring Sasuke back.
