Granted for my summaries that's somewhat because I used nicknames for new characters. But largely it comes down to there is just nothing interesting happening. Every month the chapter does not leave one eager for the next chapter. It is just constantly spinning its wheels. Even if one was interested eventually they will be worn down by the tedium.

 

Bleach is able to bounce back due to a great adaptation of a decent arc. Even if they tried to do that same for this...I want to say it won't work, but some people will just watch anything.

What I mean is, usually sequel or continiation of same universe goes in one of two directions:
- Direct sequel, that uses same logic and in-universe laws of things/powers/characters, maybe with some slight additions, so reader can mostly jump back in and don't feel lost.

- Stand alone continuation, new cast, new logic of how things operate with minor drops or references to original work, so if new reader is in - they don't need to buy 60 volumes of previous work to know plotlines or why things happening in this story.

Granted, in manga 2nd type of story is rather rare, but it does happend, most recent one is Fire Brigade. With Naruto/Burito situation, 70 volumes of original story, where one of main themes was Naruto trying to change system and break cycle that caused suffering and wars, so logical question would be, what is sequel about? If main character of original story succeeded - does sequel changes genre? No, its still a battle shonen, does that mean main character on original work dies, and just passes torch to next generation? No, he's alive... just not main character anymore? Even more so, now its not a story about ninjas, now there is cybors, aliens, clones (yes, they were in original too, but it was deus ex machina even there).

So all in all, while changing from ninja-magic theme to some proto-sci-fi, inventing some bland new cast, while dragging old cast throught the mud, this manga doesn't really land any idenity on itself. Granted thats an observation of person that never read any chapter, only from description and reviews of chapters in here or elsewhere.

Its kind of werid, how irrelevant naruto as franchise has become, reading those chapter descriptions, you woudn't guess whats going on, albeit without old names mentioned, literaly everything else feels like a fanfic creation. Even bleach got reviewed in popularity due to last arc getting anime adaptation.

No, in 2014 at Jumpfesta he said Sakura was his favorite in another interview later on Hinata was his favorite.

 

Being Kishimoto's favorite character is a meaningless phrase as he changes it constantly and it mainly to appease the person asking the question.

 

The reason that event was important is that it was when Kishimoto was giving constant interviews trying to justify the ending and come with more explanations/excuses to see which one the fans would accept. With someone, Junko, finally having enough of it and telling him to drop it.

I remember that clownfest cascade of interviews, "Hinata was planned end game since the start" "Sakura would be bad if she switched", shoked Junko, creators of The Last that wasn't familiar with story of Naruto, what a weird time and bunch of news it was.

Out of curiosity, what is good about Sakura, as person that follows PoS that Sasuke is? Because 99% of time people hated on her exactly because how she acted out of her mind around him.

So basicly even "death" of Naruto that was one of big "things" this was selling a major point, didnt happend, he got sealed? What about that superubergiga mode that burned his chakra AND life away? It got retconed or what?

Its a problem with writters of shonen, Kubo did same with Ichigo, skipping part where mc and his opinion actually mattered to a pairing that was only possible if you really develope it. 

The same thing don't  diminish a rival pairing just because you hate them... Calling Sakura's feelings for Sasuke shallow is just denial at this point.

 

Feelings of what? At what part did her feelings went above "tee-hee crush on a coolest guy my best friend had a crush on"? Did she ever brought what she liked about him?

Yeah, nothing like a taste of OC Sasuke acting as protector of Sakura, cool story, a cherry on top of Boruto. Even a closer-to-kishimoto look, time to drag Sakura throught another "they are happy together, she fixed him" story for her. 

Idk if somebody was expecting general changes in story, I for one wasn't, if anything original movie shoudn't exist.

While reading summary I felf like I was reading WWE script for event 

I've only finished season 1, but from what I know about series of games, I'm glad they took as much as they could from it, usually adaptations do much less to stay close to the original source material. First season was a good showcase of what yet to come.

Nice nod to Yamato's dialogue, author paying respect to original more, than authors of movie ever did. Nice page, not a fan of Sasuke being in this scene tho.

I have a question since it's been 7 years... are you over the ending yet?

It doesn't bother me as much, but if it's mentioned I make sure to state clearly how bad the ending was, not only pairing, as a story in general that is one of the worst endings. Bleach ending doesn't help either as both stories were things that I grew-up with, and both had unsatisfying endings and pairing in the end.
