OK I know our opinions are all subjective... but for me personally, I strongly, strongly disagree that Sasuke's redemption was an asspull in any way. If anyone's was a bit weird, it's Oro's. But not Sasuke. Kishi HAS been building this up...so I doubt asspulls in the pairings department will follow.

Guys I mean from 50+ chapters ago, it was pretty obvious that seeing his brother again had changed Sasuke in some way. He no longer seemed as crazy as when he attacked the summit- at that point, if right after that, what happened in 627 happened, then YES, I would be like "WHAT?!!!"

BUT it didn't. We saw Sasuke seeming to regain some sort of clarity during the fight with Kabuto. He stopped randomly lashing out. That's where it all clearly began! So I honestly feel it's unfair to say Sasuke changed his mind over two panels or just because of the flashback.

And in the first place, it's not like Sasuke's all "OMG I LOVE KONOHA NOWWWWW". I doubt it's that simple. I'm sure a part of him still feels very poisoned and made use of by the Konoha leadership. BUT, the fact that the situation is coming down to helping Madara destroy the entire world, or helping to save this very world his brother fought to protect. And, in the end, Sasuke still felt that little bit of attachment to Konoha, and because Hashirama's words made him realise better exactly what Itachi fought to protect. It doesn't mean he'll come back to Konoha and like SasuSaku would happen and everything will be PERFECTTTT. He just isn't so far gone to be willing to allow Madara to destroy everything.

I mean while I know it seemed like it should be/was built up that Naruto would be the one to change Sasuke...in many ways I feel this is more meaningful. Itachi was telling Naruto that he shouldn't try to do everything on his own. EXACTLY. If NOONE else can bring back Sasuke, then there's this further build up of Naruto as some sort of messiah who has to SAVE EVERYONE. And he's alr trying to SAVE THE ENTIRE WORLD FROM MADARA. I really, really like how it didn't need for Sasuke to be redeemed only after getting his butt kicked by Naruto, that he made this choice on his own. That's growth, people. It showed that Sasuke isn't some static tabula rasa who needs to be written on by Naruto. And it would be so stale and even more boring if Sasuke just went even more crazy when he seemed to show some signs of sanity (As well as making even less sense and his character seemed incapable of growth). It's not that Naruto played no role. I'm sure Sasuke's memories with Team 7 formed that strong attachment that endured even as he descended into darkness and provided the foot in the door for his change of heart.

I mean, Sasuke here is breaking the cycle of the Madara/Hashirama, Obito/Kakashi parallel, not just Naruto himself. I love how it's Sasuke coming to his senses without being forced to. It's symbolic of how the Uchiha clan as a whole isn't beyond redemption, isn't this cursed clan always doomed to insanity when they suffer tragedy.

I think honestly Sasuke appreciated the Hokages' candour- even if Tobirama was pretty harsh. He's been lied to all those years as a child, so I think the Hokages' honesty meant a lot to him. I think the fact that he saw Itachi in Hashirama further helped, and Tobirama's acknowledgement of Kagami and Shisui's loyalty.

so i loved this chapter. just my opinion, of course smile.gif

What I think too

I agree about the people who said that this chapter was too rushed and inconsistent.

But what I find really funny are the people saying they'll drop this manga all serious like as if they buy every weekly shonen jump/tankobon volume and not read it off a free manga scanlation site. biggrin.gif

Not really. Tsunade is Hashirama's little daughter, she didn't have Mokuton Ninjutsu. Same goes for her father or mother.
Also, the child has to kill to power up his Dojutsu, and I don't think this will happen again.

In my point of view, Karin/Sasuke child will be the best symbol of the manga. Two clans who were never meant to be together. A symbol of piece, and a great message from Kishimoto.
I really hope Sasuke gets the Rinnegan with Karin cells. This will make SasuKarin canon in my opinion. Cause he will have those cells in his body until his death. It's like Karin will be in his body for eternity.

About Mito, I think we will see her in the next chapter, cause Hashirama did seal Kurama just after Madara's battle.

About NaruHina :

?

In that chapter with Hinata, she does in fact say that she'll stop chasing Naruto but she says she'll be right next to him instead. lol

@RomanceGirl Great post. Some of the things you said just proves that Hinata is not an important character in the grand scheme of things. Her "loving" Naruto doesn't give any advantage at all to NH than NS, contrary to what the majority of her fans think. One fact I absolutely hate is that Hinata has tunnel vision. As some of you guys said, at this point in the story, you really can't bring Hinata in without somehow talking about Naruto. Her development itself heavily relies around Naruto-kun. Which is sad actually, because I really did like her backstory in part 1.

In part 1, tbh, I really found Sakura annoying and even symphatized with Hinata. Hinata was introduced as the shunned heiress to one of the most powerful clans in Konoha. Her father thought she was weak and incapable of leading the clan to the point that he gives way more attention to her younger sister. That was the core of her character back then, the not very confident shy nice girl with a pretty sad back story. Then comes Naruto, the person she admired because he never seems to give up on what he wants. She was inspired.

But the thing is, I was assuming that her being inspired by Naruto would make her become stronger to prove to her father that she IS indeed capable of leading the clan and growing some backbone and etc etc. But NO. Instead of that, her central focus went on chasing Naruto to win his affections. This is what makes me scratch my head. Gurl, what happened to your clan? What's even funnier is that the majority of her "fans" are not fans because they really like her character and symphatize with her and etc. They're fans because they want to ship her with Naruto. Take away the shipping and these so called fans would not take the time of day to defend anything negative being said about her. Have you guys ever met a Hinata fan that DOESN'T ship NaruHina? Shows how much her character revolves around Naruto.

In part 1, I have to admit, Sakura was really annoying to me. Up until the Chuunin Exams. Before that, she was always Sasuke this, Sasuke that. But in the Chuunin exams, she showed that she could actually care for others BEFORE Sasuke. She showed it when she wanted to give up on the written exam's last question because she didn't want to see Naruto's dream crushed forever. For the first time ever, she thought of Naruto before Sasuke. Then came the forest of death where she wanted to protect the two boys cause she didn't want to be the burden anymore. I can list all of Sakura's development all throughout the manga but the point is, compared to Hinata's character, Sakura's development isn't based on one character alone. This turn of events made me like Sakura more than Hinata in time.

It's really all about development for me. And as it stands, NaruSaku IS the most developed pairing in the manga/anime.

I've never really understood how the NH fans are so sure that their pairing will be canon tbh.

All throughout the series/manga, Naruto has proven time and time again that he'll never give up no matter what obstacles come his way. It's the theme of this whole manga and Kishi has made a point to emphasize it that it's basically ingrained in our heads. So just going by Naruto's primary character trait, do they really think he'll give up on Sakura just like that? Especially now that Sakura is regretting her feelings for Sasuke because of what kind of guy he's become?

About comparing NH to the Harry Potter pairings, it just doesn't work. Know why? Because ever since the very beginning, we've seen Naruto have a "crush" on Sakura which later turns into selfless devotion on Naruto's part. Since the very beginning, we've seen the main character having feelings for another character (which is a heroine btw) and I really don't see any signs of Naruto's feelings just fading away because some girl confessed her undying love to him. In Harry's case, he didn't have romantic feelings for Hermione like Naruto does for Sakura. Hence why HarryxHermione didn't work and made way to HarryxGinny. So it's useless to say that Harry=Naruto , Hermione= Sakura and Ginny= Hinata.

Some fans need to remember something, and that's Naruto changes people. Not the other way around.
