I am curious how the time skip is gonna go, but I half expect the story to be mediocre at best.

Sakura now is dere type tsundere and unlike Tsun type (they hate it to core), dere type is really hot one for male otaku. Don't saw otaku community on narrow point of view if you want to understand anime/manga.
First of all, there is no need to get feisty with me. I know what an Otaku is & from what I have seen and read, it all but negative. If you like it cool.
Anyways, Sakura had always been a classic tsundere, so as I said before Kishi made her with a certain mindset and that's what she was throughout the entire manga series and when it comes to Sasuke, same thing.
Now when it comes to Sakura and Sasuke relationship it has always been about the good girl liking the bad boy and Sakura's attitude/feelings for him has been based on nothing else but selfishness. Not for 'Sakura created for became male otaku self insert character (Sasuke) waifu,' as you put it.

I get that every writer has their own preferences, but Sakura shouldn't have been an issue for him to write. More than anything, I think it was just an excuse to not have to draw her as much...
It was an excuse period. Any good writer would want or at least should want to write their female characters just as great as their male characters. Kishi just did not have the drive for it, plain straight. If he did Sakura's storyline and overall character would have turned out sooo much better.

She would be considered a 'Good Character' if she died during part one, but in part two no. Hinata had no real development during the whole run of part two, not with her teammates and certainly not with her clan. She just stood in the background like a shadow. So to me, if she did die in the Pain Arc confessing her feeling, with no resurrection, I would consider it semi-emotional only because of three reasons the confession, her dying in front of Naruto, and her teammate's reaction. But I still would not consider her a good character. I would only think of her as a bland one, that needed to help move the plot along for Naruto's emotional development.
So all in all I disagree.

#900529 Would You Have Accepted an Open Ending?

An open ending would have been way more satisfying than the trash we got. Kishi should have just left the pairings to the readers imaginations. Also, instead of making The Last they could have just made a movie about Team 7 with them actually having bonding time or about how Naruto is going to change the ninja system. That would have been a better tie in with the manga and no characters get's trashed in the process.
