Oooh, the FFVII pairing debate.

If Aeris hadn't died, things probably would've swayed more towards the Cleris side of things.

Of course, then that entire scene happened with Cloud and Tifa under the highwind, and then before that with that little dive into Cloud's mind turning things in favor of Cloti.

It's a shame that A/C had to completely reset Cloud's character, if not regress it even further into that brooding person most people think he is today. (Original FF7 Cloud wasn't anywhere near that broody.)

This said though, it's ALL ABOUT THE CLOUFFIE. Only girl to ever kiss Cloud! :w00t:

As far as the remake goes...I'm just going to keep my expectations very VERY low.

I'll consider taking a look at this, since your avatar is the one that introduced me to Kurenai Ouji, lol.

Speaking of that manga, do you know if it received any updates past chapter 36 or so?

In Topic: How The Grinchmoto Stole Christmas (From Everyone but NH)

Wow, this whole thing was a pretty epic re-write...

The part where he was speaking to the two kids, it just lines up perfectly with all the nonsense interviews he's been spitting out lately.

And then...

The part where it turns out it was KISHI'S WIFE pulling the sleigh though, LOL!

I think you've captured his character perfectly. =)

Some other lines that I quite enjoyed:

"But I think that the most likely reason of all,
May have been that his brain was three sizes too small. " <------ I think that's probably the most likely reason as well. His heart is probably also a shriveled peanut, on second thought.

"Around the whole room, and he took every parallel!

Sakura’s development! Naruto’s confession! Karin’s whole being! The cycle of hate! Popcorn! And logic!" <------ You threw me off with 'popcorn' and then once more with 'logic.' I lol'ed. Awesome effect here.

""When we get home its back to the kitchen with you!" Groused the Grinchmoto as he climbed on the empty cart." <---- An accurate depiction of how he probably views the Ultimate Fate of most females ninjas in Naruto. House wives.

"They’d taken it all and run away with it, the Fans had refused his will!" <---- We don't need to accept sloppy story-writing.

Thanks for this, it was really creatively charming and awesome in its own way. =)

In Topic: Kishimoto on why Sakura is with Sasuke, and other horrible ideas.

Oooo, I completely forgot about that line. That was really cringeworthy too. But I gave him a pass, thinking it was a one-time thing, clumsy translation, etc. Boy was a wrong.

If I might ask, which line is it that you are referring to? The one about Kurenai and kunoichi in general and their only worth being in staying alive to make babies? Did Kishimoto really say that?

People have made some good points so far.

I think Inner-Sakura disappearing can be somewhat explained, though. Inner-Sakura was more or less just a way to show what Sakura was really thinking. In a situation where she would have to be polite, she would act that way, but inside she was impatient and often angry.

That disappeared in the second half, though, because by then, Sakura didn't hold back much any more and said what she was thinking much more often.

I somehow don't think this is the case. Inner-Sakura was quite clearly shown to be a very strange phenomena, much more than just a representation of showing what she was really thinking.

This was shown during Chapter 73 where Sakura had been caught by Ino's Mind-Transfer jutsu, where we see Inner Sakura actually pushing out Ino's mental hold on her, and even causing Ino some mental damage.

Ino even comments, "Two minds...what are you?" This suggests that Inner-Sakura is far more than just her 'real' thoughts or a strong will-power, but something else entirely.

This whole thing is another inconveniently discarded plot point, along with Sakura's genjutsu potential.

I have a strong feeling that in the very early stages, Sakura was going be created as the smart, psychological style fighter with a strong knack for healing and genjutsu techniques, using Inner Sakura as a way to foil any attempts of genjutsu, including Uchiha-based ones, but this part is just speculation.
