But i mean, the last chapter of Empyreal Paradox was made on March 23, 2008!!
The worst thing about a long fan fic is when ppl don't finish it.

I have also been wanting asking of that in his story's thread, but I have never got around of it.
I guess the most likely explanations are: He has been very busy; he has lost inspiration for finishing the story; and/or he has lost interest in Naruto. Another possible hint is he wanted his history fitted in canon. But it became not possible long ago. Do you remember when he got to rewrite a bunch of scenes when the Akatsuki's leaders got revealed and they got a backstory? And when Madara showed up? Now he should change a bunch of things. Konoha's foundation's story, for example. Or Naruto and Sakura pasts'.
Although I wonder how he thought his story could fit in canon how it was conceived originally. He wrote Sakura belonged to Hyuuga clan in reality, Naruto was Yondaime deaged, and Haruno's family was a powerful clan of genjutsu masters and Katon's masters. And anybody could guess that wasn't going the be the case. In fact, Kishimoto had told over and again Sakura was supposed to be a normal girl (hence, there're no dark secrets in her past).
Nevertheless, I would love reading more. I wish he completed his story, and in fact I would like reading his plot how he had first thought of it before canon rendered it impossible. He is a great writer.
But I understand he is a very busy person, and real life is more important than writing fics. I wish him luck.
