We got a second helping of Kisame action this morning, plus more funny parts featuring Tobi, and the music they played for Sasuke and Itachi was pretty good.

Ninja Art: Whack-A-Mole Jutsu! Best. Name. Ever.

Once again, I am saddened that Tobi was Madara, and not his own character.

Like the fact that they actually are showing Suigetsu and Kisame fight, even if only a little. I always felt that segment was wasted in the manga.

I just hope the anime manages to make Sasuke vs Itachi better.

Painful, but true. The fact is, he isn't very popular in Japan. He's more what the American hero is supposed to be, whereas Japan loves Sasuke-type characters. I don't know what his current ranking is, but wasn't Naruto 4th, behind even Deidara, during the last poll?

No in the last poll (on the 3rd Databook) Naruto was 2nd behind Kakashi, Sasuke was 3rd.

Personally I thought that was really funny and 100% "in character," for Naruto at least.
And I have to agree that Tobi going "ole!" to Sakura was the best part of that episode!

Oh it was, which is why it was so funny- because it took down a couple of the most used antisakura/prohinata memes by naruhina shippers in one blow, by how Naruto would really react to such. It was the funny highlight of the episode.

The "ole" line of Tobi's was just too corny to be that amusing, the "Whack-a-mole in reverse jutsu" was a lot more original and amusing.


Yeah on the polls, Naruto and Sakura are both much more popular amongst the Japanese readers than with the American fans. Sakura is pretty much always the most popular female, and she was so in the 3rd Databook (7th) poll. Here's the rankings and vote numbers:

Probably, they don't want to catch up to the manga any more than they are now. This much gives them a good plotline cushion so less filler arcs are needed. I was a bit surprised they didn't extend the Kakashi Gaiden with more filler bits though, and making it three episodes rather than two. They did put more filler bits in the Jiraiya two parter, but there were still a couple of things I would have liked to have seen- Jiraiya's reaction to Dan's death and the day Jiraiya became Minato and his mysterious lost team mates sensei.

the interesting thing about the sasuke Itachi fight is that on paper it was choppy and its pacing was slower.

in animation though it should flow like lighting. its jsut gonna be a cosntant step up of awesomeness as they start subtle, then end with their biggest techniques and finally come to a soft slow conclusion as itachi falls from his illness and Sasuke is jsut left standing there.

and that will promptly lead to the sage arc and then Pain vrs Naruto. *gleee!!*
