One Piece is getting a second anime!?
 That's pretty nice. And Satelight has produced some good stuff so it should be in good hands (as long as it isn't Studio Perriot). But with only 140+ chapters I think it maybe a 50 episode series. Still good though! |

If you've read both you can see the blatant connections especially with character designs and Nakama theme. Nami & Lucy, Luffy & Natsu, and Ace & Gray.

Yeah, Fairy Tail is really heavy on the One Piece influence. XD When I first saw it, I wondered if it was done by the same mangaka since the art style was so strikingly similar. But it's just the art style and nakama theme that Fairy Tail draws from One Piece, the rest of it is different.
It's good that Fairy Tail has become popular enough to get an anime! I doubt I'll be watching it, but hopefully it will get more people interested in the manga! |
