(He's trying to argue the why NaruHina has development)

To sum it up: Naruto went from thinking Hinata was a “dark, shy, weirdo.” to a person he “really likes.” And this was all in one arc.

Somehow, that interpretation or rather misinterpretation is always used in a NaruHina argument.

In the end of the chapter, Shino makes a comment about Naruto recognizing Hinata right away. “Naruto recognized Hinata right away, too...” I'd say that is an improvement when comparing him to the Naruto we knew back in the Chuunin Exam-How he didn't notice her at all in the beginning. “Hinata... I didn't even notice her.”

So what, he knows who she is. He's one of Gaara's best friends and Gaara tried to kill Team 7 and all of Konoha.

1. Naruto wants to love and to be loved. His asking Sakura on dates proves that.
2. If Hinata confesses out of her free will, I expect her feelings to be reciprocated. If not, there is no logical sense in confession because it would hurt her self-confidence.
3. It WILL have a great impact on Naruto. Remember that he was never loved romantically by anyone before, he always gave, never received.
4. The promise of a lifetime created an opening in his heart to love someone other than Sakura.
5. Naruto likes Sakura for her desire to be acknowledged. Can you imagine his reaction if he found out that Hinata desires acknowledgment from him? [for her change]

1-3: The desire to be loved doesn't mean you love the first person who says they love you. If that happened, everyone would be with their first loves. If Naruto merely wanted love and to be loved, he would be trying to date as many girls as he can.
4: He is putting it aside until Sasuke gets back. See how the lengths he is going to get Sasuke back for Sakura. That promise was in itself a love declaration.
5. He also thinks she is pretty.

NxH's kind of stupid ya know? i mean Naruto's spoken to her what 3 times? they all act like it's some kind of cheezy romance novel where they meet three times and kiss in the rain, plus narutos never actually shown any indication that he actually liked her, that he's accepted her yes and maybe thinks of her as a friend but not actually having a crush on her

Guys, guys, just coz it's an NH thing, doesn't mean you guys HAVE to laugh at it.

I find some points quite valid though, but of course, I'm actually a NaruHina fan to some extent, and yes, if you think about it, that guy isn't THAT desperate. He is just making his point, like we NaruSaku fans do. True, some of it is just pure bias, but comeon, we're better than that.

It's interesting, but it seems to really play up the encounters they have had.

However, to think of NaruHina as canon would mean to ignore the growing romantic relationship around Naruto and Sakura; as well as anime and manga cliches that foretell it. (Funny enough, this doesn't work in vice-versa, because as we've seen, the NaruSaku relationship can progress and completely ignore the NaruHina aspect)

It's not rubbish. They might be reading into it a little too much, considering that this type of manga is usually taken at face-value about its themes, but it's not rubbish. An interesting interpretation none the less.

Oh, and I wouldn't have used the data books for information. That sort of thing can usually be wrongly interpreted and, of course, only relevant when it was released.
I wish though, that this essay-writer named which which shounen anime and manga had main characters hook up with side-characters. I'd liked to have a closer look into those.
And anyone naming DBZ as a reference should be shot. Seriously, the only romantic thing that could attribute to Goku and Bulma was when Goku came back from training on Kami's Lookout and she remarked about how he'd grown.

I don't think there's a SS manifesto per se, but there are a bunch of essays on the relationship. In fact, the NH manifesto is more complete than any of the ones for SS.

The SS ones I've read usually come with one of several flaws.
1) Does not include part one or two, but it's usually part two (The longest "manifesto" only covers part one)
2) Evidence is mostly from Sakura's side
3) Databook support
4) Bad conclusions at the end of the essay in my opinion

The first time I read this manifesto, I thought that she (yes, it's a she) brought up some good points in NaruHina's defense, but my main gripe with it is that she's acting like NaruHina is going to happen just because of that one phrase in the databook. To me, lots of that stuff in the databook is added for flavor and spice to the manga, such as the part where it states that Ino will never give up her feelings for Sasuke. Okay, I'm not saying that I'm ignoring the databook, because Kishi wrote all of that stuff, correct? But like I said, some of that stuff is just added for flavor and spice, or, in otherwords, to exaggerate little details.

Furthermore, wasn't this before all the part 2 moments with Naruto and Sakura? A lot has happened! Sure, Kishimoto has definetely planned a few romantic pairs all along, and one of them might be NaruHina, but so far, from what I've read and seen from the manga with an objective point of view, the NaruHina stuff belies what is going on with the actual manga right now. So, while this manifesto is an entertaining read, it doesn't take into consideration that Naruto STILL loves Sakura, and that Sakura HAS indeed been shown to have the hots for Naruto, and, realistically, there's no two ways you can go around that.

Besides, Mizura's is much better, even though I dissagree with the part about Hinata not having a crush on Naruto. It's... pretty clear she does, but yeah, she doesn't really know him as well as Sakura.

I actually can't stand NaruHina. I can't stand it for my life, (I will admit it CAN be cute if done right), but I'll still hate it. However, I repsect people who like NaruHina.

The authoress makes some good points, but she makes even MORE weak points. She can't simply base the end of the series on 1 line from the data book, from PART 1.
After reading that essay, am I convinced NaruHina is developed? Not at all. She keeps bringing up the point screentime =/= development. Uhh... yeah it does. If Hinata has no screentime, which she has next to none, she can't have interactment, and therefore no development. Naruto can't be in a different country, land, whatever, and suddenly go "OH! For some reason I LOVE Hinata! She's the best!". No.

The pairing is so underdeveloped it drives me insane. Love what you want, I dont care. I respect it as much as I can, but they've had 1 moment together when she cheered him up. He didn't stand up for her because he loves her, he stood up because he knows what it's like to be underestimated and called a loser. Sure, it was a big moment then. But as I said in a comment on there, Naruto has had that sort of moment with everyone and their dog. So many people respect him now, he doesn't NEED her, as they claim.

I'm really trying not to be biased, but it just makes me so angry when they say it has a lot of development, because no, it doesnt... at all. One little moment does not make a pairing canon.

This brings some great points on Hinata's side, but I didn't really see too much on Naruto's side. They mentioned that Naruto liked Sakura because she wanted to be acknowledged, and that Hinata wants to be acknowledged, so Naruto can fall for her. I guess I agree a little bit with this, but Naruto now loves (Not sure if that was the right word or not) Sakura for what they've been through together.

Overall, it brought up some great points in the defense of NaruHina, but I think relied too heavily on the databook to back up proof. I guess now I can see the fans' point of view on NaruHina and why they like it.

Oh, and I hope there is a SasuSaku essay. I think it would be interesting considering SasuSaku is *okay* for me.

i only skimmed through this ... and i have to say most of this is based on guessing and made up theories, this was badly.... badly written and they fail to state of why the other pairings including these two would fail compared to nh... Most of this is based off old evidence ,very old. Most of its from the first half. And they make sakura look like a total whore who only wants to be sasukes b*tch. Lastly WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH HINATA STEPPING INT THE GOLDEN LIGHT!!! WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH NARUTO??????? AND WHY DOES EVERY PERSON SAY THAT MEANS N IS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!????
