Sasuke groaned as he glanced down at his textbook, standing propped-open in front of him. Hidden behind the 'screen' of paper was... well, more paper, really. But this paper was different. This paper was the kind that haunted Sasuke's nightmares. It was a pile of... notes. Notes that had been passed to him. Notes that smelled strange. Notes from... the females of the class. Females who couldn't understand that he just wasn't interested. Fools.

Meanwhile, Naruto was angry. And getting angrier by the second. So angry that he couldn't even concentrate on the topic of Iruka-sensei's lecture - The best food for a ninja - and instead focused on that bastard Sasuke. He watched as Sasuke crumpled the notes up into a paper ball and throw it straight into the bin at the front of the class. Bastard.

Sasuke should have known better. That display of strength (Paper balls seem to display a certain unwillingness to accept the path through the air that the one who throws them decides upon) and precision (The bin was surrounded by Naruto's failed attempts at managing the same) had caused both Ino and Sakura to stare at him with hearts in their eyes. kitten.

Iruka stopped mid-word and walked over to the bin. He fished out the paper ball and opened it up, revealing the masses of notes that had been written. Smelling the perfume that had been sprayed on the paper (And which together could knock out a dog) and knowing who had thrown the ball, Iruka decided to taunt Sasuke. After all, he had read Naruto's notes... but they had only been insults to Sasuke, so he couldn't read them out loud. A pity.

'Class, it appears that Sasuke has been writing notes.'

At this, both Sakura and Ino gave Iruka their full attention. Had those notes been Sasuke's failed attempts at proclaiming his love for them? Naruto and Shikamaru saw what was happening, and glared at Sasuke. He was their common enemy. And even worse, he dismissed the females that sought his attention as if they were nothings. Cruel bastard.

'The note reads (And I quote): Your dark hair offsets the beauty of your skin, and beyond your eyes I see your heated soul...'

As Iruka grinned and threw the notes back into the bin and Ino turned to face Sasuke and pointed towards her heart and smiled sweetly, Naruto burst out laughing. He had just thought of an idea. Cunning.

'Sasuke! I never knew you had the hots for Shikamaru!'

That comment was near-fatal for Naruto. A bigger grin from Iruka. Glares from Sasuke, Shikamaru, Sakura AND Ino. A blush from Hinata. Uncontrollable laughter from Kiba. Chouji started choking on his crisps. And as usual, Shino did and said... nothing. But Sasuke didn't stop at just glaring.

Grabbing one of his shuriken, he jumped up and threw it towards Naruto, who used the desks of the row behind his seat as cover.

'Bastard dobe! I only love my Ho-Hos!'

It was then that a random teacher poked his head round the door.

'Who's Mai Hoe-hoes?'
