I haven't played the game personally, just only followed it through walkthrough videos on youtube, and i got to say i think the story for The Last of Us was great.. so i can't wait to see how the events unfold in the sequel. Trailer was beast as hell, and Ellie looks a few years older then she did in the previous game so it'll be interesting to see where her character goes.
THAT'S WHAT HEROES DO, THEY SAVE PEOPLE!!

Aside from the same "human side" stuff from the first one, I do look forward to see how the infection could have possibly mutated or something given we only had four different infected in the first one (Runner, Stalker, Clicker, and Bloater; the Stalker and Bloater only having a few appearances). I did read that they did have plans for some infected animals in the first one, like an elephant and such, but cut them, so maybe they could turn to animals again.

I am definitely surprised that Naughty Dog would show violence against females in a trailer. It always seems harder to portray female violence in cinematic medias.
I think Naughty Dog's goal was to create a buzz and get people talking about the darker tone. Even bad advertisement is still advertisement as Lavar Ball said.
Ironically, I have been playing a lot of Crash Bandicoot 2 (still a awesome game) and its always kinda weird to see such a shift in tone from their start.

They definitely shocked me with the sheer intensity and gruesomeness of the content. (Maybe it was to distract us from that fact that we didn't get to see either Joel or Ellie, and it worked on me haha. I'm really interested in the new characters~)
I think it was also in part that Naughty Dog wanted to show that women too can be in those dire situations and really bounce back from it. They know how to write and physically portray females in their video games, like in the first TLOU and in the Uncharted series, so I have complete faith in them!
