Hello everyone! :thumb:

I am currently writing a NaruSaku story titled Sakura and Her Hokage. It will be told from a third-person limited point of view, the person being Sakura. The story will most likely be a long oneshot.

Here are the themes I want to deal with in the story:

1. Time

-Sakura always finds herself running out of time because of how long she waits to settle things between her and Naruto (Scenes include the Confession, Yamato’s/Sai’s words)

2. Fear of Losing Friendship

-She fears that Naruto may reject her, and that if she tries to put herself out to form a relationship with him they will lose the bond of friendship that they already have

3. Growing Up

-In this story, Sakura finds it hard to accept the fact that everyone is growing up and they are entering a new era of their lives. I think that Naruto will help her through this (he can bring up what Shikamaru said to him in the manga after Jiraya’s death)

-Sakura is currently dealing with Tsunade’s death, triggering this fear of growing up (because she knows she will lack the time to grieve… interconnections between themes are great, no?)

So, while I already have an idea of how I want to resolve Naruto's and Sakura's relationship in the story (I do love me some fluff, haha :chuckle:) I am having a little trouble with another part of the story - so, I wanted to ask you guys:

Who would make a good villain/good enemies or what would make a good external conflict?

I figured that you guys would have some good ideas, and I appreciate all of your guys' opinions.

So, please don't hesitate to post your ideas! Not to mention, if I end up using any ideas I will give you credit in the beginning of the story

So, thanks ahead of time!

invent some enemies that follow Hidans religion. It could tie well with the growing up part

And give them more powerful techniques relating to Jashin.

Though if you want another idea for enemies to fight, how about creating a handful of fictional countries from a continent reminiscent of the Western World? Said countries could be colonial powers that have explored and seized territory from many parts of the Naruto World except for the Shinobi Continent. It could be Naruto and the other Kages trying to protect their own sovereignty from the looming colonialists that, while maintaining somewhat friendly relations with the Five Great Shinobi Nations, still have a hidden political agenda of colonizing the continent for it's rich resources and, of course, nationalism.

As for how these colonial powers would stand a chance against ninjas with supernatural powers, these colonial empires would have already entered the industrial age (perhaps with some miniature steampunk-like mechs as well) and economies large enough to back up their military's due to putting their resources to good use.

You could apply this as a means to showing how even Naruto is growing up considering how serious he'll take his job as Hokage. He'll still be the Naruto that Sakura knows and loves, but she'd still have feelings of nostalgia.

If this idea seems cool to you, feel free to use it.

Thanks for reading!

And also thanks to everyone for their ideas. I really find K9ofChaos' idea about the conflicting of the western world and the ninja world to be really interesting. I also think that having villains who follow Hidan's religion to be really interesting, too... great ideas!

Most of it sounds good, the only thing im not sold on is the whole Oh noes I vant blow our friendship trope. To me its entirely become overly blown hollywoodesque. 2 people who clearly care for each other tap dancing around the issue becomes more frustrating to read then anything at least for me. Especially when it involves the 2 stupidly lieing to each other about how great it is to see the other happy with other people. Then self reinforcing that lie with more lies while ripping themselves apart.

it gets overdone and ridiculous past a point.

If you use that point I would suggest using it in a very minor way as part of one of the other plot points. Or as an excuse such as the last one her grieiving.

Shes still grieving tsunade and doesn't want to grow up, as part of that she tries to stay in childhood and part of that is using the friendship as an excuse. something which Ino or Karin would rapidly call her on as BS.
