I'm posting on this blog a lot more than I thought I would, but I had a great day, so I'll post again already.


I interviewed with a bio-medical company last Friday, and they just called me back today.

*drumroll*

I got the job! Woo-hoo! I'm in such a good mood right now. It'll be a significant pay upgrade (like 30% more than I'm making now), and it'll be in a field I'm interested in working in for the long-term. The only drawback is that it's a 25 minute commute, but I can deal with that. My first day is next Friday (the 17th). I can't wait!

Also, it's Wednesday, so I was able to read the new chapters of Bleach and Naruto. I'm pretty interested in this new Bleach arc already. It looks like the villains really are Quincies, at least from what we've see so far. I hope those new characters are alright though.
Naruto was alright too, but I'm getting tired of the trolling. I know Kishi wants to keep his fans happy, but it's hard for me to be passionate about a pairing when the author is giving an opposing one legitimate panel-time. It's sort of why I have a tough time shipping in Fairy Tail. But I dunno, I guess I'll see what Kishi's got planned.

I replayed the Silent Realms quite a few times before the final boss, and I think I found the best strategy for that realm was to go to the quicksand area on the left, and just sprint towards that tear on the small island, just to get it out of the way. I think I hit the one right in front last, since there were so many on the tower. There's probably a lot of ways to do it though.

But guh, there've been so many times where I would just barely evade a Guardian's weapon. Those guys are SO FAST!

Hmm, maybe I should try getting that tear first. Guardians can't walk on quicksand, right? Wow they're so much like the Phantoms and Flying Guardians are easy to outrun even without dashing... don't know if it will work but one day I'll try.

As for what I do, well... basically I follow what Fi says. "To find, but deliberately not pick up the easiest accessible tears until you find that you really need one." Paraphrasing of course. So besides getting the tear right in front because I have sooooo much courage I start off by getting the tears at the back of the area or any tears that are difficult to obtain.

Kidding, it's alright. I'm sure you're busy with school now. Has it gotten better after your first few days? I always hated the first week after a break when I was in high school.

Ugh, that sounds rough. Well, good luck! Hopefully things get better. At the very least, it'll help you get ready for university/college, if that's your plan.

If you feel like you're drowning in homework though, feel free to PM me. Reading and writing aren't really my forte, but I did Math and Science tutoring while in college. After all, the only person who should be drowned is Ben.

So many great pictures, I can't pick my favorite. I think I like the one with every incarnation of Link hanging from the Triforce the best. But some of those Zelink pictures are just PURE DAWESOMENESS! Thanks again!

On a side note, you can no longer stop the Skull Kid after that hug I gave you. Ha. Ha.

I beat Skyward Sword (with 100% completion) last week, but I haven't built up the courage to try Hero's Quest yet. Someday though...

Personal Entry

I decided to go home to visit my parents last Friday, and I'm still here. It's nice when they're around, but I'm home alone right now and MAN I'm bored. My family lives a rural area in the middle of nowhere, so I don't get cell phone service, there's only two channels on the TV (one shopping channel, and the other's playing this real dumb comedy with Julia Louis-Dreyfuss right now), and the only Internet they have is dial-up. Ugh, I already miss the Cities. I have 3G on my iPad, which is nice, but I'm awful at typing on this thing. Oh well, my mom has every season of House M.D. so far on DVD, so it could be worse. I'll probably just have a little marathon tonight. It's definitely more interesting than watching my cat all night.

Woo-hoo! After a couple of days with the family, I'm back at my apartment. I always enjoy spending time with my family, but it definitely gets boring after awhile, since they live in the middle of nowhere, and all of my high school friends have moved out of town. It feels nice to be back in the Cities and have something to do, most of the time anyway.
Also, only 2 more days till I start my new job!

Anyhoo, here's an interesting little thing I discovered the other day. Apparently, in her mad desire to kidnap the 101 dalmatians, Cruella DeVille enlisted the help of some interesting characters.

Working together I can understand, since House is clearly an interesting Muggle, and Weasley's avid claims towards the existence of a "Wizarding World" might catch House's interest for a little while. What does seem odd, though, is why they would choose to work under Cruella. It seems unbelievable that Mr. Weasley would willing choose to work for such a horrible woman, and perhaps even more unbelievable that House would follow anyone's rules other than his own (even IF she had a heavy supply of Vicodin to tempt him).

Hmm, this is truly a quandary.

Okay, so I haven't posted on this blog for a while. I started a new job last Friday, and I just finished my first full week today. So far, I'm enjoying it. The first couple days were just orientation, and I had to read a LOT of ISO standards and documents on the processes I'll be running. My cubicle is pretty boring right now, but I'll have to spice it up a little this next week. Maybe a picture of Garfield saying he hates Mondays, or a cat hanging from a tree saying "Hang in there".
Naww, but seriously, I love the atmosphere at my new job, and I'm happy to be doing something I enjoy. I'm sure I'll be busy in the future, but I don't really mind. Probably the big thing that'll bug me, though, is the paperwork. The medical device industry is VERY regulated, so I pretty much have to fill out 30 forms and sign my initials a billion times for every lab run I process. And if I screw up any little thing, I have to cross out, sign, and date the error, so that's really annoying if the error is just writing my initials slightly different than usual.

Also, I haven't done one of these in a while, so I'll do another one finally. It'll be on a minor character though, since I don't really feel like writing a dissertation right now.

D-Roy Rinker



Other names/titles: Di Roy Rinker, Arrancar #16

Zanpakutou:: Unknown (he never released his sword in the manga)

Reports to: Grimmjow Jeagerjaquez

Character Description: He's of average height I guess. He wears regular Arrancar clothes in the regular fashion, though I guess he keeps his shirt open just like Grimmjow, who is also the Espada he reports to. His Hollow mask is like a giant helmet that sort of resembles a Hammerhead Shark's head. One side is covered in bandages, which hide a wound he received a long time ago. His hollow hole is close to the center of his chest, sort of like Ulquiorra's. Clearly they're brothers. Not too much to say about him otherwise, other than that he has square, shark-like teeth that seem to give him a bit of a lisp.

Personality: I dunno, he's violent, I guess. We really don't see too much of D-Roy. I guess he's prone to jumping into fights without thinking first, or just underestimating his opponents, but that's not really unique to villains in Bleach. He's particularly confident in his sonido, or high-speed movement.

D-Roy's backstory is introduced long after he is defeated, but I think I'll start with that anyway.

Sometime in the past, before D-Roy had become an Arrancar, he traveled around with a group of Adjuchas-class Menos (evolved Hollows) and one Gillian-class Menos. One day, he came across a smaller Adjuchas, one that resembled a panther, and decided to devour it. Before he can do anything, though, the panther leaps at him and bites a chunk of his mask off (a wound he still had up until the present). Impressed by his power, D-Roy's group introduces themselves to him, and the small Hollow gives his own name. "Grimmjow" The group of Hollows decide to follow Grimmjow, and make him their king. They share a common goal, to evolve past the Adjuchas state into the final class of Menos, Vasto Lorde.
This ragtag group of badasses travels around for a while, killing Hollows and taking names. One day, Grimmjow's men decide to stop, telling him that they now think it's impossible for them to reach Vasto Lorde state. They ask Grimmjow to eat chunks of their bodies, in order that he might continue to seek evolution in their stead, despite halting their own evolution by allowing him to do this. D-Roy already had a chunk bitten out of him, so he was probably just daydreaming when his team members were giving this speech.

Years later (I assume), D-Roy is seen again as one of Grimmjow's Fraccion. All of his fellow team-members have become Arrancar thanks to Aizen, and Grimmjow is the Espada in command of them. Grimmjow orders his men to attack Ichigo's hometown, since he didn't like how Ulquiorra handled Ichigo and his friends earlier. He orders his men to kill anyone in Karakura Town with even a trace of reiatsu, and D-Roy leaves to kill Chad, Ichigo's friend. Right as he is about to kill Chad, Ichigo appears and stops the attack with his hand. Sado runs away (poor guy, he's so prone to plot-induced suckage), and Ichigo gets ready to fight D-Roy.

Right then, Rukia, who came to the fight with Ichigo, has her gigai (an artificial body she controls) restrain Ichigo so she can fight D-Roy. Poor Ichigo. D-Roy and Rukia fight for a bit, and D-Roy introduces himself as the 16th Arrancar, but doesn't let Rukia introduce herself. What a jerk. Rukia jumps away, and tells him he should at least remember the name of her sword. Rukia releases her sword for the first time in the manga, and creates a circle of white light below D-Roy. D-Roy jumps up and laughs, saying that ground attacks are pointless, since he's so good at sonido. Rukia then does something with her sword, causing a big beam of light to shoot out of the ground, freezing D-Roy. It turns out her zanpakutou's power is snow, which is pretty dang similar to Toushiro's zanpakutou, which is ice-based. Whatever. Anyways, the ice shatters and D-Roy dies.

Other notes: D-Roy was actually one of the first Arrancar characters introduced in the manga. We first see him at the beginning of the Arrancar arc, watching as the Grand Fisher Hollow evolves into an imperfect Arrancar. For some reason, his bandages are covering his whole head though, so it's easy to mistake him someone else.

I'm happy for you! Our office is under renovation right now so I can't decorate my cubicle yet. I'm very antsy to do some organizing but since we're not yet sure where we will be placed, it'll take some time. Good luck on decorating yours.

Aww, that's too bad. Do you spend a lot of time at your desk? I only spend a few hours a day at mine, but I'm already getting tired of seeing all the blank gray space. Other than my computer and phone, I just have a notepad, a pen, and a few paper towels. I'm thinking about bringing some of my engineering textbooks there, since I have a big shelf for that sort of thing. It'd be sort of pointless though, since all the pertinent information I would need I could get off the internet, the company's database, or the senior engineers at the company. On the other hand, I guess a few random textbooks would make me look smarter.

What kind of work do you do at your internship, if you don't mind me asking?

Hmm, not too much to report today. I had to attend a company planning session in the morning, but since I'm still a newbie most of the discussion wasn't really relevant to me. The rest of the day went by pretty quick, which is good, since Monday is Bar Trivia Night! We're taking 1st place for sure this time!

Also, I discovered that my greatest fear has a name...
