Category 3 Irene is now targeting the Carolinas, New Jersey, and New York...though it doesn't seem like anyone here really cares too much.

Don't worry, I'm feeling your pain!

I've already been out making sure my summer outdoor projects are finished up. Thereby ensuring that the torrential rains will miss us completely! lol

Prepare and stay safe guys! They're saying that it's looking like the worst and most extreme hurricane to ever hit the US Upper Eastern states. Over 55 million people will be affected in some way.

The 1821 Norfolk and Long Island Hurricane, Great September Gale of 1815, and the New England Hurricane of 1938 says hi to that statement. I don't think Irene survives to be a category three by the time it rolls to New York.

North Carolina is in the crosshairs of many hurricanes and therefore the state and its residents should be well prepared. Like the earthquake that appeared in a area of the country, a hurricane bearing down on the New York area will certainly be an exercise in patience as residents will be more generally panicked.

Supposed to turn into a Category 4 today and projections still have it going towards the Northeast; if it is on line to hit New York at Category 3 or greater, then I think we'll have a major problem. So far it looks ready to graze North Carolina or keep going North.

Way it looks it going to hit the East Coast Somewhere.

I think that New England have been hit by worse hurricanes (based on the projections for Irene), but they didn't have nearly the buildup along the coast that they have now. And it sounds like Irene won't be a Cat 3 by NY, but the storm surge and rain could cause plenty of problems even without any windspeed at all.

Im glad my relatives in Puerto Rico and Florida won't have to deal with this ish for once. Now what sucks is New Jerseyians hav evacuated into Philly, bringing their Joisey slang and accents with them. I'd like to see a settlement established for all the Jersey peeps to occupy. It'd be just like the movie District 9, but with uglier refugees.

Most likely we might have to deal with flooding and power outaged, but Ive got a generator so I can use PS3 since I simply must play the new Madden 12.

Here in Puerto Rico at least in the south Ponce where I live we had heavy rain and high winds for four days straight, a lot of flooded streets. The north was affected more like San Juan, Bayamon among others.

I live in Raleigh, NC and my freinds were saying goodbye to me like we were all going to get killed out here. Though it does get me a bit nervous seeing that the rain has already started pouring down sad.gif

I heard that a Hurricane was going to destroy Jersey Shore and went "Finally!" and then I found out it meant New Jersey and I wasn't happy anymore.

were pretty safe now in florida, some high surf and surprisingly light rainfall and winds as the rain bands passed over us but beyond that we were spared the brunt of her anger.

still worried shell pick up speed and power and hit the east coast hard. guys and gals stay safe up there ok.
