Don't worry, I'm feeling your pain!
I've already been out making sure my summer outdoor projects are finished up. Thereby ensuring that the torrential rains will miss us completely! lol

North Carolina is in the crosshairs of many hurricanes and therefore the state and its residents should be well prepared. Like the earthquake that appeared in a area of the country, a hurricane bearing down on the New York area will certainly be an exercise in patience as residents will be more generally panicked.

I think that New England have been hit by worse hurricanes (based on the projections for Irene), but they didn't have nearly the buildup along the coast that they have now. And it sounds like Irene won't be a Cat 3 by NY, but the storm surge and rain could cause plenty of problems even without any windspeed at all.

Most likely we might have to deal with flooding and power outaged, but Ive got a generator so I can use PS3 since I simply must play the new Madden 12.

Here in Puerto Rico at least in the south Ponce where I live we had heavy rain and high winds for four days straight, a lot of flooded streets. The north was affected more like San Juan, Bayamon among others.
