I do not necessarily hate Sasuke but I hate his "high might attitude, who thinks he is better than anyone else just because he is a Uchiha clan member!" But you cannot really blame the guy, he has to think that in order for him to get motivation so he could avenge his clan since his family was killed (but, I am not all for revenge though) sad.gif .

I do not understand why so many fans (mostly girls) like him so much that they want him to be with Sakura, despite himself not having any feelings for her. I can understand that they can sympathize with Sakura's feelings, but come on, the guy does not even like her that way. Why do so many girls like guys like that who are all bottle up and hardly interact with anyone else? That just seems boring and hard to find satisfaction to receive love from a guy like that. But it is possible he could change when Naruto confronts him but I do not know what is going to happen though.

I find it odd that even though Naruto is the protagonist of the story, that a lot of fans do not want him to get with the girl that he likes and underestimate him, even though we should know better that he will be great because he is the main character after all. Sasuke is not the protagonist, yet, they want him to get everything despite himself being a jerk to Sakura most of the time and has no interest in anyone for the moment at all. dry.gif Naruto wants all of that, and yet they do not want him to get everything. Which is sort of a reason why I do not like Sasuke very much (though, I do not hate him) because he has everything yet he does not respond back like most people would, Naruto does respond back though.

I agree.... isn't it weird that most of the fans aren't in favor of naruto even though his name is the title of the "said" show i don't know why they root for the hot cool guy rather than the main protagonist who works hard just to get everybody to like him just to show that naruto is a character worthy of attention that naruto will never give up on you" .... i have been thinking this lately maybe kishimoto wants naruto to also work hard so he will also get acknowledge by the readers/viewers specifically those who hate and underestimate him just like the people of konoha shun him? and to be able to do that naruto will and show that no matter against all odds and "HE" will come out victorious and to be able to achieve his dreams????(being with the girl he loves and to be able to obtain the rank hokage) is this the main theme for naruto?? to work hard for your dreams??? sighs....

That is right, thekonohaGANGSTA, it almost like we are speaking at the choir or something like that! That would be interesting, if Kishimoto-san had made the manga to not only make the villagers acknowledge him but also the readers of the manga (in part II, especially). smile.gif

Love cannot just be out there, you have to somehow work for it and nuture it (the same with getting your goals in life) however other people are not goals, Naruto showed great maturity that he was even going to let Sakura go when he saw her hugging him at the hospital because he values her feelings above his own. The potential for romance between them seems very possible though because of the recent hints that they might be together. However, I do hope that Sasuke will change for the better in the end though, to become a better friend toward Naruto and Sakura. smile.gif

I am not entirely sure this is allowed, Ino-chan....Now as you know, there is no character bashing on this site. However, Fruits Basket fan, I am glad you did refrain from full out swearing and yelling. I do say that I still like Sasuke, and I agree with a part of FBfan's idea. I am not too fond of his arrogance, but it's ok on my part. He could let up a bit on the attitude.

I am also a little happy that you put, hate or not hate.

I personally, like Sasuke. In every manga/anime there is always the main character and his rival. Most of the time, the manga will have their rivalry as a major part in it. Sasuke's and Naruto's rivalry is, like I said, a major part of this anime. It shows how, not all the time will the rival's make up so quickly. Neither is that willing to give up hating each other. Sure, Naruto says Sasuke's his best friend, but he will always be his rival.

Sasuke is equally determined, if not more, too hate Naruto. For him, he needs to break his bonds in order to defeat his brother. However, I'm pretty certain that he will never be able to break his bonds with Naruto and the rest of the gang. Still, I think that he will eventually go back to Konoha. (whether it be on his own will or not) After all, most mangas have a happy ending.

Either way I'd hope that, whether you like Sasuke or not, please don't get too carried away here.

Try not to bash too harshly, all right? Also, I think hate is a strong word used here against Sasuke. But it is your opinion, though I think this may be taken off soon, but I hope not.

Good luck.
I only ask for you to notice me.

I would'nt say that I hate him. Actually I like him, but only as a bad guy.
I don't like him with Sakura. Sakura is Naruto's girl.
And I HATE some aspects of his character. He only cares for himself. And what Kishi is doing with him at the moment is so stupid, as if he can't decide if he is good or bad...

Depends on how you view bashing. Calmly discussing something with points as to why you dislike a character and outright slamming them with little reason and just clling random names are two different things. But I suppose in the end that's up to the ones in charge.

For me, I don't know if it delves into hate or dislike. It wavers sometimes, but never once in my reading Naruto have I ever liked the character.

Part of it stems from personal experience. I know the type of person Sasuke is very well. The cool guy, the one all the girls fawn over, in the end really just rotten people to a lot of people. The ones who won't hesitate to put down those they see as below them or can't stand to be lesser then aomeone else in some way or another.

Yeah, you meet a lot of those types in high school. All the girls never look at anyone but the popular sect. Always have crush's on the good looking ones or the coolest of them all while everyone else stays clean out of their vision. Even though those just outside their narrow viewpoint would be better for them. Then some mangae to go out with these people, and are dumped before long, as none of those relationships last and eventually they realize the person wasn't what they thought he was. Then, of course, they learn nothing and make the same mistakes again.

I guess part of the reason I seriously dislike Sasuke is because I dislike those kind of people in general. I relate far more to Naruto, as in a way he reminds me far more of myself then any other character, and I know what it's like to look on the outside as those guys get everything, from the admiration of girls to respect to recognition without even really trying or caring.

Another part of it is that I have trouble sympathizing with him. Yeah, he lost his family. That's indeed terrible and I felt bad, but his actions were ridiculous. He had everything. Friends, respect, admiration, people who would stand by him. Everything someone like Naruto would kill for just a little bit of, and he threw it all away on a whim, barely thinking about it. He nearly killed his best friend twice and spat in the face of their friendship, for the path to quick power, yet he somehow still gets their devotion.

Another thing is how much of a Gary Stu he seems to have turned into. Naruto is barely allowed to progress, while Sasuke gets all kinds of new abilities every time we see him, does the implausible and is generally put out there as a veritable genius. He can never seem to do much wrong, and gets away with whatever he does do coming out on top. He is NOT the main character of the manga, but at times, he may as well be with his fanbase and all the incredible things he can do.

Then, there's his arrogance. I can't lie. I absolutely despise him when he gets on his high horse. Believes just because he has a special bloodline, he's the greatest thing going. And then, Kishi writes it so that he's basically proven right. His arrogance builds and there's no bubble popping in sight. That really pisses me off. He needs an ego check so badly it's not even funny, and at this point I'm even beginning to believe that Kishi's favorite character is Sasuke. He certainly makes it so everything comes out great for a traitor who all but spat in his best friends face. >_>

That leads me to my last point. He's loved by the fanbase for bein a broody, "cool" mess, yet he's done some despicable things and is generally a really screwed up character. Like in real life, a lot of girls like him because he's "hot", and the ones who sympathize with him refuse to see that he's caused serious problems and screwed everything up. Now, it looks like he's going heroish again, and suddenly everyone seems to like him again, maybe more then before, despite what may have amounted to changes that could ruin the storyline. Glossing over what he's done.

There's more, but that's all I feel like detailing right now.

Some of them feel like getting Sakura wouldn't be "everything", but that other characters (like Hinata) might be better for him.

We've already had the latter.

Discussing why one dislikes/hates Sasuke is one thing. But an invitation to specifically list why one dislikes/hates Sasuke (or another character or pairing) tends to encourage more of that bashing.
