Epicness --Click here to view--
I absolutely loved this episode. Itachi's always such a badass and his beating of Nagato with his Susan'oo was awesome and epic. That jutsu that Nagato used on him in the beginning that was stealing his soul was really dramatic but it's one of those moments where you know nothing's going to happen. Naruto is protected by main character no jutsu. And Naruto made me lol so badly when he freaked out over Nagato using Planatary Devastation and Itachi made him look like idiot. Gotta love Naruto, he's adorable. And of course the amazing sealing and owning of Nagato by the awesome three-way tag team. Nagato's last words were one of my favorite parts, it was really symoblic and touching to show his remorse over the "second novel", how Jiraiya's was "perfect", and he showed his faith in Naruto by saying he'll succede him.
Itachi's lecture, which I had vaguely forgotten about, was the highlight of the episode. And I found it very ironic based on the future manga chapters that Itachi said he could become "just like Madara" and then show a picture of Tobi. I'm always happy on how Itachi acknowledged his failure of doing everything on his own, vaguely referring to his own failure with Sasuke. At least he sees his mistakes and that he should've done things differently, something I admire. And I will say this like I did when the chapter came out: how hilarious is it that Itachi has the knowledge of who Naruto's actual parents are but no one else seems to know? MinaKushi moment was adorable! <3 And I also love the appearance of Konoha 11 and how Sakura was shown first and longest. Call it the NS fangirl in me but isn't it funny that Itachi said "It was because Minato had Kushina and the others that he became Hokage" and it showed Sakura, the Kushina parallel, first? Dat anime NS fanservice.
As for the animation, am I the only one who doesn't mind? Yeah, I know the anime isn't excellent on a regular basis but it wasn't that atrocious. Itachi's animation was probably the only noticable thing that was a huge "I can't even look at this" feeling for me. I guess I just either have low standards or a short attention span lol.
Not as excited for the next episode but at least the plot's starting to move along now.
