The 'Sakura never hanged out with Naruto' came in part from that Road of the Ninja one-shot where Sakura went to the hot-springs on her day off instead of spending time with Naruto. Of course people read that then assume Sakura never hangs out with Naruto, clearly never heard of "Me days." Also, it destroys the Narrative of Naruto if that was the case.
Remember, that the closest thing to a justification of why the story spent TEN YEARS chasing after Sasuke. Is that Team 7 Sasuke and Sakura are the people closest to Naruto, they all have a deep bond with each other that no one else can come close to, and Naruto cares so deeply about this bond that he spent years chasing after Sasuke to restore it. Destroying that means that the story of Naruto is a waste of time. Which is one of the things that helped kill the franchise when they did it.
Shikamaru and Hinata basically spilt Sakura's old roles the love interest and Naruto's strongest/closest supporter.

It also further agitates them after the one of the latest episodes had Hinata confirming that Naruto is hardly ever intimate with her and romantic gestures from him are rare. A far cry from the man who used to shower a certain pink ninja with affection and appreciation whenever possible.

Boruto is a slice of life anime that sometimes have fighting. Its easier to have endless filler without having to think up missions storylines. For example, easier to ask if Timmy and Judy are getting back together after another fight over writing a mission to rescue another princess from random domain against random ninja goon with random dangerous powers...that they haven't done before.

When Sakura said Naruto's feelings for her were false and he only wanted to win her as a trophy girlfriend over Sasuke and Naruto SAID NOTHING in response. An absolute insult to their friendship and everything Naruto stands for. FORGET the romance being tarnished, Naruto saw Sakura as a a victory medal and his rivalry with Sasuke was shallow enough that he had to take ONE fan girl away from him to make himself feel superior. DOES THAT SOUND like the compassionate selfless Naruto Uzumaki we've been following for 15 years?
I just realized that H stans are really trying to say Naruto wasn't obsessed with Sakura. The revisionist history...like we all didnt' want this boy turn into another person to tryand kiss her. Its eating them up inside to this day that Hinata wasn't Naruto's first love/crush. Like....your girl is married to him now...relax. No need to twist history to fit your ship in your head. wtf
he didn't try to kiss her, he wanted to tell her what he thought of her(forehead comment etc), except as himself he couldn't get up close to her. so he transformed into sasuke, whom she wouldn't shoo away. then she tried to kiss him. he froze, not knowing what to do. pointing this out cus some people actually claim assault for this kitten.besides the most obv thing about all this is kishi saying 1. the last was narusaku's goodbye/them realizing they're not compatible, and 2. he wanted the manga to end and the movie was the studio's idea. so was prolonging the franchise to a sequel.1+1=2 and narusaku got scrapped.

That scene was to destroy any feelings Naruto ever had for Sakura. Because as always they can't stand Hinata being the second choice. However, in order to do that they had to destroy Naruto's character. Since, no one should disagree that Naruto was attracted to Sakura; he says so -internally- in chapter three if nothing else. As well as Naruto constantly self-sacrificing to make Sakura happy; the promise of a life time being the most well known scene of this.
Of course when you say all those scene he didn't have real feeling for her, he was just faking it, and it was always about just being better than Sasuke. Than looking at those scenes and how convincingly he lied makes him come off as a complete sociopath/psychopath as well as the worst scumbag.
SS fans don't mind as it implies that Naruto understood that Sasuke always had feeling toward Sakura.
He wasn't showing showing he was madly in love with Hinata either, until "the last". What's their point? It is a SAD SAD day when these same fans imagine Naruto and Hinata sucking face every 5 seconds, but Naruto wanting to know Sakura a little better is sick and wrong. BTW, WHEN has he tried to get to know Hinata to that sort of detail? True love, my kittening kittens
Again, they want Naruto to only love Hinata to have only ever loved her and no one else. They can't stand him caring about anyone else; with the exception of the children they had together.
As I recall, Hinata didn't either. Again, What's their point? And it is not only that Road to Ninja one-shot by the way, Hinata never hung out with Naruto IN THE MANGA on her days off. if they really want to go there how about they actually show Naruto and Hinata on a date during Naruto's run? tick tock, tick tock. Naruto ghosted Hinata ALL THE TIME and these fans can try prove me wrong if they can. He even ghosts her now when you think about it

Hinata spent 16 years barely interacting with him, yet always thinking of him apparently. Yet, she is the closest person to him and the only one with a bond of love. Ignore anyone that interacts with him, and acts especially Sakura since they don't care about him like Hinata does. Virtue Signaling is a thing her fans probably believe in strongly. You never actually have to act on what you believe, just saying it is enough to prove how morally superior you are to everyone else.

The problem with that whole damn scene is not only does it aim to invalidate Naruto's feelings, it also just hugely contradicts the person he had been shown to be in 15 years of the manga, and really makes it feel like he never understood ANYONE he had helped. And that BS is why fans in Japan began to call Naruto the ultimate scumbag, on top of calling Sakura a terrible woman, when their fury should be at Studios Pierrot's shenanigans and the crappy writers for The Last!
agreed sp are to blame for this not the characters or the actors.

I don't think it was thw fans that were calling sakura a terrible women but kikitteno if sakura moved on from sasuke.

From what I recall, that's what people (his editor/sp) told him when he questioned about her moving on from Sasuke. So, it didn't originate from him, but the people around him. Though the fact that it somewhat convinced him enough to used it as an excuse does say something.
