OpenOffice

Is the exact same thing as Microsoft Word, but is free. I use it to type all my Fanfiction.net stories, and it is in fact recommended by FFnet to use in place of MS Word.

And once you download it, the program name is OpenOffice Writer happy.gif

I don't mind helping you. Just send it to me and I will format it for you. What are the specifics that your proffessor wants?

to fix the problem in the software you already have.. I don't know what happened but it sounds like something was altered somehow... try copy/pasting your stuff into a new document and saving it under a different name.

Are you using a trial version of word?

If not:

On the Review tab, click New Comment.

In the Protect Document task pane, click Unrestricted Access.

Note If the Unprotect Document dialog box appears, the document is password-protected. You cannot stop the protection on this document unless you know the password.

Well the simple way would be to type it in Microsoft Word Processor - > copy/paste to email -> go to school computer and open in Word.

Or if you want the complete version of Microsoft Student 2007, then I can pm you a DDL for it free of charge! Save yourself $130.

EDIT: Whoops its not Microsoft Student but rather Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007. Though that doesn't make a much difference I figure.

Yes. BUT, it only opens Word 97-2003 documents. Anything that is 2007 and up won't work. And the only way you can do with those documents is to copy and paste to the 97-2003 version, then open it up in OpenOffice.

Now it is a great program, but it's not perfect, one of that examples I have is when a single document I used and save it as a Word document and when I open it on Word, the document look funny and messy. (Trust me, it screwed up my resume documents whenever I'm applying for a job.) dry.gif

It's still better than using a trial version of a product, which locks you out once the trial is over.

Pretty much solved my problem. Managed to get it all worked out before turning in my essay....now, the month long wait begins.
