I'm not really scared mainly because in the area live in it's a rural town and anyone you see on the street will most likely stop to have a chat with you or just a casual hello.Although sometimes I get super jumpy... then I just listen to music.

Life goes on whether you choose to move on and take a chance in the unknown.
Or stay behind, locked in the past, thinking of what could have been.

Oh my gosh. YES. YES IT IS

Well I wasn't walking home but last night but I was walking around at night downtown. It was after a concert at 11PM and I was waiting for my ride. I was so paranoid walking around shady looking alleys and any male figure I would see I would quickly walk away from and I thought my own shadow was someone following me. All I had on me was a safety pin so I literally was holding that as a defense mechanism just in case anything happened.

Oh and I had to deal with a drunk dude calling me honey and get help away from him from some potsmokers. It wasn't fun and I don't know why but I was scared out of my mind. Not to mention I live in Nevada (not Las Vegas though) where there are bars and casinos everywhere....

So yes, yes it is.

No, but I tend to avoid certain places if I can. Like the shortcut home, through the dark forest. :shifty: And when in other countries with big towns, I take taxi. : D I'd get lost without them tho, I'm more afraid of that because I'm so good at it!

I live in a pretty small, quiet country. I'm not afraid here. Last time I travelled however, I was kinda creeped out.

Man I envy you. There are a lot of good things about New Orleans....safety isn't one of them. Sometimes I just wish I could live in a small, quiet country like yours, lol

nah don't feel bad, we have our downsides too. Like, it's safe, but...boring. Everytime I lost my wallet on the bus tho, it has been returned to me with the same amount of money. I have my perks of living here! :sweatdrop: but even though crime rate isn't high, you almost have to kill someone to get locked up. Even then, you won't stay there long. You know when I was younger, a violent criminal was on the loose, and me and my friends gang had to make strategic plans on how to avoid him when hanging out. Even though he ran after us with knives and he even punched my friend, he was just deemed as mentally unstable and he got banned from the neighbourhood. Not to mention there is no risk in sexually assaulting someone, very few end up in prison. I have no personal stories myself, but my friend's attacker is still on the loose, even though the police had DNA, witnesses and everything. All because of a mickey finn she had. My head is boiling even today.

So while it isn't perfect here, I notice the difference when I walk on streets in different countries. In London it was fine, but then I went to Ecuador and they were a bit too pushy. I am grateful that I was born here, but we are still working to improve things. :D

Well everyone is afraid of somethings. Honestly i am afraid of many things. And i too am afraid of dark despite of being a 17 years old boy. But i think being afraid for a reason is ok . Being afraid of something without a reason or as green lantern said being scared to accept u are scared is point less.

Don't feel bad, I'm afraid of the dark too. We all have our weird fears, like I'm afraid of taking showers (I take baths instead).
