Chidori is much less refined and looks like a white-bluish mass of lightning chakra. Raikiri is an enhanced version that's less chaotic and much more controlled. It's more blue than Chidori. I don't really remember, but when Kakashi used Raikiri against Zabuza, I don't think the ground was being split open, unlike Sasuke's Chidori against Gaara where Chidori made cracks on the ground.

If you took the time to notice, the ground cracked with Sasuke because he put his hand into the ground, where as Kakashi didn't.
There is no difference between Raikiri and Chidori, the name is only different because Kakashi called it Raikiri after he split a bolt of lightning if half with Chidori.

Well, one of the first two databooks ranks Chidori as a B-Rank technique, and Raikiri as an A-Rank technique. Kishimoto himself is telling people that there is a difference between Chidori and Raikiri.

Well, then I guess I was wrong, can't be right all the time.
So, the difference may be that it's more controlled, I don't see how that makes it a different technique by a lot.
Then again, I never liked the databooks, I've heard a great deal on how they contradict their selves in many things.

Actually I don't remember the databooks giving an explaination of what the difference is, but whatever the case, it's there.

Hmm... weird, I'd like a detailed explanation on why, but whatever. dry.gif

The only major gripe I have with the last few chapters is with Naruto coming back so soon. I personally would like to see things a bit more dire before he came back.

But now Naruto has his Sage-hack to go against Sasuke's Sharingan-hack. Hooray!

Definitely need some NaruSaku.
