Uhm... Well, anyways... I feel as though in the end, Naruto is fulled with many missed opportunities, pairings is one of them.

And just think about it. Before the war arc, NaruHina was legit a crack ship. There was little to no interaction in Part 1. The biggest interaction they had in part 2 was during the Pain confession.

And then you have NaruSaku, who had moments in both parts. Part 1 focused on developing Naruto's feelings and Part 2 focused on developing Sakura's feelings. They just had to come together. Instead we got... well, you know.

True that NH just come out of nowhere it was literary none existent pre Pain arc, but the bigger issue I always had was with SS that kitten was pure cancer like how can it even exist after all that abuse its just pure insane, god how it destroyed Sakura,  how can you even call that kitten romance in the first place!? Oh yeah Sasuke is apparently a Tsundere now . Everything is so forced I literary can't even begin to explain it anymore *sigh*.

The worst part of all of that is that every time I see them now I feel only disgust I can't get that image out of my head ugh!

Yeah. It's disgusting. NaruHina fans, if their pairings didn't happen, they'd be unhappy. But they wouldn't be disgusted.

Oh you can bet in one thing, they would have certainly been pissed and spit on Naruto for not choosing their precious Hime Hinata Sama like they constantly did during the manga when Naruto didn't pay any attention to her but Sakura lol, but at best Hinata might have grown as a character besides her constant Naruto Kuning be more depended on her own, find her own strength instead of taking it from others, it could have worked out for the best and this massive retcon kitten would have probably never happened.

Blind worship of a character is something I've always disliked, even for characters I love. It turns people off from liking a character, especially when they're new to the character. So when I went and saw people just worshipping "Hinata-hime-sama-chan-senpai-sensei-dono" as if she were the Second Coming of Christ, it really pissed me off. People did the same thing for NaruHina to a larger degree, which made me absolutely hate it. Despite how much I love it, NaruSaku has some faults. But when it comes to fans of NaruHina, they refuse to accept the contrivances that come with the pairing. It makes me irritated.

NaruSaku is flawed because it is real. And because it is real, IT WORKS.

Yeah, and that's why I see people in the NH fandom hating it so muchj, not just because it opposes their preference, but because they don't want realism, even if they forget, manga isn't realistic too often.

NaruHina wasn't just a crack ship. Most of their interactions in the manga canon had implications that should have put the breaks on any relationship between the two. There's enough we can pick apart that shows like Sakura Hinata didn't really understand who Naruto really was, but whereas Sakura's low opinion of him changed through their time together Hinata just kept fangirling. Her obsession with Naruto is unhealthy and I have to ask didn't the Rock Lee spinoff make fun of it? It's pretty much the opposite of what fans of the pairing say it is.

As for your last question, Rules, yeah, Rock Lee and his Ninja Pals does make fun of Hinata's obsession with Naruto when they do a skit about the release of Road to Ninja in theaters, where Hinata thinks the movie should be romantic in nature, and when she describes it, Tenten mentions how it isn't a love story, it is more of a story about a stalker, with Hinata going "S-stalker!?" in the original audio track, and in the dub, she cutely, and funnily goes "I'm not a stalker!!" XD

Kishimoto certainly sabotaged it, either consciously or unconsciously. For instance, there was no need to have Sasuke say that he would never even consider being with Sakura at the end if he was going to end up with Sakura. Sasuke was many terrible things, but a hypocrite wasn't one of them.

It is even more apparent that he either didn't write the ending himself or anything when they ask him questions about the future and he is like "I don't know." I mean, you are the writer, how do you not know what happens?

"I don't know how SasuSaku got together"

How do you not know? You just put two people together and said "They are together. Not sure why or if there even is a reason, but it is there."

90% sure that he was up to his ears in meddling executives and editors for at least the whole last year of the manga. There's no way anyone can deny that, at this point. Slightly more debatable: his scrotum was in a vice for at least half of part 2. How else do you explain the inconsistencies in the plot? Even I don't think he's that incompetent. "Sakura wants to be strong and stand beside her teammates," to "I don't know how to write Sakura tbh," to "she's no more important to the story than, say, Kiba or Rock Lee," over the course of one year? Are you kidding me? The funny thing about Naruto, as a whole, is how little sense craptastic parts make behind the scenes. Like, is the guy a rebelling genius, or a comically lucky jackass who managed to accidentally write a story with a brilliant beginning and middle? If he's so terrible at writing romances (as he himself proclaims and as the evidence shows, if he's to be believed when he says that the current state of the story was all according to plan), how in the world did he manage to write a decade-long, believable slow-burn romance before bringing it all down in a raging inferno like it was a straw hut? Nothing makes sense anymore.

It really says something when SP themselves are willing to bring it up.

"Oh but it's innocent and cute."

Right, and Twilight and 50 Shades are totally good examples of healthy relationships. Hinata got freaking jealous of a scarf given to Naruto by his dead mother. A lot of psychiatrists would flag that as a sign of a toxic relationship. We could probably crank out a massive thread her dissecting NaruHina as a toxic mess, based on manga evidence and real world articles.

Yeah, I'd say that Hinata also being unable to stop chasing Naruto after the war is a sign of how toxic that NaruHina can come off as since she still had that obsession, and yes, it is obsession, not love, and she couldn't even want him to be happy if he was with someone else. This is why I am SO glad in my Naruto fanfic that I am gonna do my best to ensure Hinata grows beyond just her obsession with Naruto, and that she actually becomes a stronger and better person than she has been portrayed as since she's just a side character, even now.

It's total BS that he didn't know how to write Sakura. He didn't know how to write what people were telling him to write, and it shows. But he knew what he was doing before he decided to sink his own story.

An example of a writer throwing his own ideas away resulting in nonsensical and inconsistent story.

Hard to say....according to some interviews, alot of the ideas that made Naruto great were not of his own making, but suggestions by his first editor Yahagi.

I've been wondering, do you think Yahagi knew Kishimoto wanted NS to be canon? I mean has Kishi actually told him he wanted NS?

He had to know, because it couldn't have been more obvious what they were going for in Shippuden before the Kage Summit. It's basically the story of how Sakura fell in love with Naruto. Then it's like "No, she can't have fallen for him, because she loves Sasuke, even though there has been zero emphasis put on that since part 1" Plus he based Sakura on his own wife.

This is basically the most kittened up story ever. The fact that people, including myself, even thought Hinata had a chance, is just ridiculous. And that it actually happened is even more absurd.
